*NEVER TAKE ANY HERBS WITHOUT FIRST CONSIDERING HOW IT MAY AFFECT YOU OR ANY MEDICAL CONDITION YOU MAY HAVE. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING ANY HERBS*

~THE BASICS~

There is an herbal remedy for most all ailments.

The most popular "cure all" is Echinacea. (I swear by this one)

Not all herbs are safe for everyone. Example: Anyone allergic to ragweed should not use any form of Chamomile.

Be especially careful when giving herbs to children.

Treat herbs as you would any medication.

.

~ANTI-NAUSEA REMEDY~

Grate 3-4 tablespoons Ginger Root in a cup.

Pour boiling water in cup.

Cover and let steep for 10-15 minutes.

Take 2-3 tablespoons every couple hours as needed.

Pregnant women with a history of miscarriage should not use Ginger.

~FIRST AID FOR MINOR BURNS & CUTS~

There are a number of remedies for minor cuts and burns.

Aloe - simply apply the "juice" from an Aloe leaf onto the wound.

Cinnamon - Sprinkle a small amount on the wound to relieve pain.

Garlic - Crush a clove of Garlic and place it on the wound holding it in place with a band-aid. Garlic will not only relieve the pain but also fight infection.

.

~HERBAL TEAS~

(these are a few medicinal teas that also have a pleasant flavor)

Spearmint Tea - This tea is good for nausea. Spearmint tea is good hot or cold. It has a milder flavor than Peppermint tea. Mint teas are good with honey and/or lime.

Rosemary Tea - Decongestant. Rosemary tea has a pine-like scent, good with lemon and honey.

Ginger Tea - Anti-nausea and good warming tea for chills caused by cold weather. Good with nutmeg and honey.

Sage Tea - Relieves a sore throat. Should not be made too strong, good with orange, lemon or cinnamon.

*PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD NOT USE SAGE*

WHEN TEAS TASTE BEST

When one's heart and hands are idle

When one's thoughts are disturbed

When shut up in one's home all day

When charming friends visit

In a quiet secluded room with old photos, mementos, and sweet memories
