Dash to Windshield Opening

These areas are being repaired not so much for looks (since these areas are covered up) but more so for structural integrity. So that being said these will not be perfect but functional patches.

Picture on the left shows the passenger side windshield opening at the bottom under the garnish molding. Picture on right shows the same area after the bad area has been cut out and is ready for patch.

Picture on left shows patch that was cut out from a donated dash. I had to remove the clip retainer in order to slip the patch in from underneath the dash top. Picture on right shows the patch in place ready for welding. Clip retainer will be glued on once welding has been completed.

Picture on left shows the patch after it has been welded in place. Picture on right shows the same area after the clip retainer has been glued back in place. Right hand picture not loaded yet.

Picture on left shows the driver side windshield opening at the bottom under the garnish molding. This is the same area after a home made patch has been welded in.

The picture on the left shows the windshield header area over the driver's side. All of the dark spots in the white area is rust through. The picture on the right is after the repair. Again, home made patch was welded in and the minor holes were just filled with weld.

The picture on the left shows the A pillar on the driver's side before any repair was done. The lead joint was filled with bondo and has been ground out. The part of the outer pillar that is spotwelded to the inner is rusted away from about halfway down the pillar through the upper curve. The picture on the right shows another homemade patch after it was welded in place. Weld was also added to the lead joint.
