The ninth child of Ludwig Doll and Mary Eva Lantz Doll is Rose Cyrilla Doll. She was born January 28, 1912 in Flasher, North Dakota. Rose married Edward William Ferber on June 19, 1934 in the Fond du Lac, WI. Edward was born July 28, 1909 in Fond du Lac, WI. He is the son of Edward Charles Ferber and Alma Kleinke Ferber. He was a carpenter and mason.
     Rose and Edward had three children, Donna, Joanne and Edward. Aunt Rose is especially remembered for her wonderful baked goods. Rose died October 10, 1978 in West Bend and Ed died December 20, 1989 also in West Bend. They are both buried in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Kewaskum.

Obituary

     Mrs Edward (Rose) Ferber,  66, of Route 2, Campbellsport, died Tuesday October 10, 1978 at Samaritan Home, West Bend, where she resided for 2 months.
     She was born January 28, at Timmer, North Dakota., the daughter of the late Ludwig and Mary Eva Lanz Doll. She was married to Edward W. Ferber in Fond du Lac on June 17, 1934.
     The couple resided in the town of auburn since 1950. Mrs Ferber was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Kewaskum.
     Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs Leroy (Donna) Dier* of Kewaskum and Mrs James (Joanne) Kieckhafer of West Bend; a son, Edward of Adell; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
     Also surviving are nine brothers and sisters, John and Linus Doll and Cathryn Eggers all of Fond du Lac, Joseph Doll of Campbellsport, Anthony of Milwaukee, Jacob of Nevada, Mrs Marian Del Ponte of Knowles, Mrs Edward Roethke of Minneapolis, MN and Mrs Myron Johnson of Sussex. Two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
     Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Miller's Funeral Home, Kewaskum and at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Kewaskum. The Rev. John T. Budde will officiate and burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Kewaskum.
     Visitation for Mrs Ferber will be after 4 p.m. thursday at the funeral home.

Edna Hinners

Edna Hinners, 88, of 1110 Chestnut St., Wisconsin Rapids, died early Wednesday morning, July 25, 2001, at Family Heritage Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Barry Yarbro will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in the town of Grand Rapids.
Mrs. Hinners was born on March 29, 1913, in Fond du Lac, to George and Alma Ferber. She married Clark Hinners on Aug. 31, 1940, in Tomah. He died on July 5, 2001.
Mrs. Hinners was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Riverview Hospital Auxiliary, Bull’s Eye Country Club, and the Women’s Golf Association. She was a former member of the PTA at Howe School. She was also a former member of First English Lutheran Church, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Chuck (Stephani) Hinners, of Madison; four grandchildren, Chas Hinners, of Waukegan, Ill.; Cathy Hinners, of Atlanta; Christina Hinners, of Durango, Colo., and Heidi Hinners, of Middleton. She also was predeceased by her parents.
Friends may call at Taylor Funeral Home on Saturday from noon until the time of service.

Laura A. Ferber

Laura A. Ferber, 87, formerly of the town of Auburn, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008 at her home in Kewaskum.
She was born on in the town of Sherman, Sheboygan County, the daughter of the late Ernest and Amanda (Arndt) Hausner, and on Oct. 28, 1939 she married Walter J. Ferber Sr. in the town of Sherman.
They farmed together in the town of Auburn.
Laura was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane and the Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau and the SnoCougars Snowmobile Club.
Laura enjoyed gathering hickory nuts and playing sheepshead with the neighbors.
Survivors include her son, Walter (Carole) Ferber Jr. of Campbellsport; her grandson, Jason (Betty) Ferber of Campbellsport; her great-grandsons, Eric and Nick Schlehlein; her sisters-in-law, Verna Hausner of Campbellsport, Marcella Ferber of Jackson and Norma Dins of Fond du Lac; special friends, Rose Kuehl and Anna Nigh; other relatives and friends.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Sr. on July 23, 1998; her grandson, Jonathan; her brother, Ralph; and her infant sister, Ruth.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, New Fane, N665 Highway S, Kewaskum.
Rev. Mark Eckert will officiate, and burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, New Fane.
Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Leroy C. Bier, 65

Leroy C. Bier, 65, of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 8, 1934, in the town of Kewaskum, to the late Arnold and Bernice (Bingen) Bier, and on June 23, 1956, married Donna Ferber in Kewaskum.
Leroy was the owner and operator of Bier's jewelry Store in Kewaskum for 40 years.
He was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaskum, where he actively served, was a member and past president of the Kewaskum Lions Club, was a past member of the Kewaskum Area Chamber of Commerce, and was a past member of Watchmakers Association and Wisconsin Jeweler's Association.
Leroy coached and sponsored community sports and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling with friends.
His special sense of humor, his faith in God and his commitment to family and community will be lovingly remembered.
Leroy is lovingly survived by his wife; three daughters, Robin (Ken) Wilson of Marine on St. Croix, Minn., Julaine (Mark) Miller of San Diego, Calif. and Jeri Lynne (Steve) Lusk of Incurlik, Turkey; five grandsons, Craig, Scott and Geoffrey Wilson and Kyle and Kristopher Lusk; a sister, Carol (Gerald) Zimmel of Fond du Lac; a brother, Ralph (Linda) of Lyons, Colo.; two aunts, Edna Henderson of Racine and Rosemary Bingen of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

James W. Kieckhafer

James W. Kieckhafer, 66, of West Bend, died on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at the Portage Health Center, in Houghton, Mich., due to injuries received in a snowmobile accident.
He was born on June 19, 1936 in West Bend, to the late Clarence "Larry" and Anita (nee Kaehny) Kieckhafer, and married Joanne Ferber on Nov. 8, 1958 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum.
Jim graduated from West Bend High School in 1954 where he was known as "Spider" while playing basketball and running track.
In 1958 he received a BS degree in insurance and real estate with a minor in accounting from Marquette University.
Following his graduation, he started working at the former Kannenberg & Marx, an accounting firm in West Bend.
After receiving his CPA, he became a partner in the firm which was then known as Kannenberg, Kieckhafer & Co., presently Kieckhafer, Dietzler, Hauser LLP.
Jim was very involved in community affairs and activities. He was a former 20-year member of the West Bend Fire Department; a 3rd degree member of the Fr. Casper Rehrl Council 1964 Knights of Columbus; a member, past president and long-time treasurer of the West Bend Noon Rotary Club and was on the Waterways Committee of the Rotary Club.
Jim was named an Honorary Paul Harris Fellow in 1988, and received the Rotarian of The Year Award in 1998.
He was on the Washington County Economics Board; a member of the West Bend 2020 Planning Commission; St. Joseph's Community Hospital Site Planning Committee; the Board of Directors of the former Heritage Bank, and was presently on the Board of Directors of M&I Bank.
Jim was also a member of the WICPA Association, Holy Angels Parish Council and served as treasurer on the Board of Directors of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Board of Directors of the 7-Up Bottling Companies in West Bend and Sheboygan for 40 years.
Jim loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, traveling, snowmobiling, boating and relaxing and enjoying the northwoods at their cottage on North Twin Lake near Conover.
Jim had a great passion for his work, his community, his friends, and especially his beloved wife, children and grandchildren.
He loved his life and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife; six children, Jeanine (Joseph) Socha of Minnetonka, Minn., James C. (Lia) of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Joi Davis of Waukesha, Jeffrey of San Diego, Calif., Jon J. and Jenni (Troy) Hanson, both of Campbellsport; 12 grandchildren, Erin, Greta and Madeline Davis, Ian, Megan and Ellen Socha, Jordan, Jason and Brady Hanson, Alexis and James William Kieckhafer and Lilly Kieckhafer; a brother, John (Jackie) of Thiensville; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death was a grandson, Zachary Hanson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.
Father Gerald Brittain will be the presider, and burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation at the church only will be on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Angels School, St. Joseph's Community Hospital Building Fund, or for The Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, would be preferred and can be sent in care of M&I Bank, 321 N. Main St., West Bend, 53095.
