For those who have yet to be enlightened to the ways of Middlefinger, here's a little info that might clear things up. Aggresive yet melodic, precise yet chaotic, and not to mention humorous, Middlefinger drowns the senses and leaves you pleasantly refreshed. Matt Kelly the group's vocalist and frontman is a spectacle to behold. Wearing a coconut bra, and a flying pig on his head, he's been know to pull rubber chickens from his drawers and cut major arteries on stage. He's been hospitalized and operated on several occasions as a result of his performances with Middlefinger but will never be destroyed. He has been compared to David Byrne and Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo, but let us not classify or label him, for he's an entity that you must witness firsthand. Anyway Middlefinger has played with tons of bands you may have heard of: Blue Meanines, Voodoo Glowskulls, Mephiskapheles, Skankin Pickle, Buck o Nine, Goldfinger, 30footFall, Amazing Royal Crowns, and countless others. Oh I almost forgot -Silverchair! Middlefinger released "3 Martini Lunch", a 12-song CD in 96 and followed up in 97 with the release of "Quickie", a 6-song CD/EP (1998 Album of the year -Houston Press, 1998 Band of the year -Public News-). " Digitus Impudicus," Middlefinger's 3rd released hit the shelves in 2000 and achieved global distribution. Just recently the band released it's first live CD "Live... with Hormones". Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your perspective and taste) the music of Middlefinger does not lend itself to radio due to the band's refusal to kneel before the latest soon-to-be cliche. This may forever doom the band to obscurity but there are more noble pursuits in music than those of glory, fame, and riches. What could be more noble you ask?
