Though nothing will keep us together
We could steal time just for one day
We could be heroes, forever and ever
We could be heros just for one day.
He's got a HUGE... talent
I don't need you anymore! All my life you made believe I was only worth what someone would pay for me! But Christian loves me. He loves me! He loves me, Harold. And that is worth everything! We're going away from you, away from the Duke, away from the Moulin Rouge!
This woman is yours now. I've paid my whore.
No Laws. No Limits. One Rule. Never Fall In Love.
We're creatures of the underworld. We cannot afford to love.
Come What May
I believe in truth, freedom, and above all things; Love.
He entered a world where fantasy is real,
I can't fall in love with anyone,
GENERAL SURGEON'S WARNING: DIAMONDS
"The film dances, the heart sings. It transcends speech with song, allowing the soul to soar."
A magnificent, opulent, tremendous, stupendous, gargantuan, bedazzlement, a sensual ravishment. It will be: Spectacular Spectacular!
Christian, you may see me only as a drunken, vice-ridden gnome whose friends are just pimps and girls from the brothels. But I know about art and love, if only because I long for it with every fiber of my being.
CHRISTIAN
Above all things I believe in love.
This is a story about Love at the Moulin Rouge. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months. And then, one not-so-very special day, I sat down at my typewriter and wrote our story. A story about a time, a story about a place, a story about the people. But above all these things, a story about love. A love that will live forever.
The underlying myth in 'Moulin Rouge' is the myth of Orpheus.
ROXANNE! You don't have to wear that dress tonight
ROXANNE! You don't have to sell your body to the night
Tell our Story Christian,
How Wonderful Life Is Now That You're In The World
Ultimately Doomed
I owe you nothing. And you are nothing to me. Thank you for curing me of my ridiculous obsession with love.
I will love you until my dying day
You're gonna be bad for business, I can tell.
where he could be anything he wanted,
and where he would discover
the most dangerous temptation of all
I make men believe what they want to believe.
Never fall in love with a woman who sells herself,
it always ends bad.

"Takings risks in the performance of a lifetime -- she sings, she dances, she dies."

Moulin Rouge
Christian [Ewan McGregor], a young writer with a magical gift for poetry,
defies his bourgeois father by moving
to the bohemian underworld of
Montmartre, Paris. He is taken in by the absinthe- soaked artist
Toulouse- Lautrec, whose party- hard life centres around the Moulin Rouge,
a world of sex, drugs, electricity & the
shocking Can-Can. Christian falls
into a passionate but ultimately doomed love affair with Satine, the
Sparkling Diamond [Nicole Kidman], the most beautiful courtesan in Paris
& star of the Moulin Rouge.
He's handsome, he's a poet,
he's a genius! What's not to
like about that?
Love is like oxygen.
Love is a many-splendored thing, love lifts us up where we belong, all you need is love.
It is a simple, even naïve story based on a primary myth is set in a
heightened or created world that is at once familiar yet exotic, distant.
In 'Moulin Rouge' music and song is the device that
releases us from a naturalistic world.
That way we'll always be together
