Hey all!!
Since we are all remembering our times we met/saw wheatus...heres my lil story! :)
Well...this is such a cool story!! hehe
I remember I was sitting on the board thinking, OMG I cant wait to see this band, and then suddenly I found out that they were playing in the UK...I was soo excited! I phoned up the booking office, and they said the tickets went on sale the next day! So...next morning, I phoned up, armed with my dads credit card...but was told I had to be 18 to go!! :(
So..i complained a lot...to people here, and people at home! hehe..annoyed a lot of people..but I thought it was really unfair!! After a lot of asking and stuff..I eventually found out, that you didnt have to be 18 to go, and it was alll ages, and my mum phoned the venue to confirm this!!
Then once again I phoned the booking office, but they were sold out!!...It seemed as though i was destined to not see this band! My mum complained to the ticket office, that they had given me, and lots of other people the wrong information, and because of that I couldnt go see my favourite band!
I put up a post about it cause I was really upset! But then....to my amazement, Shira decided she would try get me on the guestlist..and this was only like 3 days before the gig!! I was waiting for confirmation...and I came on the net at like 6am every morning to see if it had been confirmd!! I was going crazy...
Then..the morning of the gig, I had a pm from Shira, saying she still hadnt had confirmation, but I should be on it, and so to go anyway!!
So...that was it..I was going to see wheatus! ahhh!! I was put on the guestlist as me plus 1, so I decided to take Ashley (mijit) with me!
So...I got in the car..and it was an hour and a half dtrive there...got there like 4pm, and met Ashley! It was really cool to meet a fellow froggy!!
We went up to the doors..and the security guard said "sorry, no one allowed in" and I said "um..we are supposed to be on the guestlist" He looked suprised and went to get the manager! The manager came, but didnt ubdersatnd so got the tour manager! SO..we went inside and waited...
and waited..hehe..then suddenly the tour manager arrived..we spoke to him for a while, and I explained what had happend..about I was supposed to be on the guestliset but wasnt sure! So he said, well I can add you to the guestlist if you want..but when I told him my name, he was like hang on..your already on it! hehe
So...we spoke to him some more, and while we were...MIKE PETE AND PHIL walked past!! Me and Ashley nearly fell over! lol
Then,....I took a seat on the steps, and suddenly I heard someone coming down them...it was BRENDAN! I was like "hi"...and he smiled ahd went "hellooo there"! lol
So..the tour manager let us into the soundcheck, it was really cool!, Like our own mini concert, we got lots of photos while there! Then once they were finished, we got their autographs, well..except Brendan cause he went staright back upstairs, which we were a bit disappointed about!
So..we went outside, into the lovely glasgow rain and waited in the q! More and more people arrived, and then Ashley noticed Brendan att he window..and waved to him!..he waved back! hehe
Eventually we got into the gig, and it was sooo cool! In the q, there were these lil boys behind us, and somehow Ashley told them we met wheatus and were on the guesltist, you should have seen there faces! lol
So..the gig rocked...it was the best gig I have ever been to...EVER!! It was sooo cool! There are natural entertainers!! :)
After the gig, we went to the main hall thing, and the security guard that had let uss into the building, asked us if we got all their autographs, and we told him we never got Brendans! So he said he would see what he could do! So we waited by the stairs, by this time our mums had returned to pick us up!
So..the building was cleared, then suddenly at tbhe lift..a familar looking face apperared..it was pete, he was standing signing autographs! Ashley told the security guard to get Pete to get Brendan to sign our cd,...and he actually went!!
He must have went back up the lift with Pete, but then he came back down, and said "Im sorry but he wont sign them" And we were like awww..ok then he continiued "unless you are there"
OMG, we couldnt believe it, suddenly we were in this lift being taken up to their dressing room!!I was the first to walk in, and I noticed Pete sitting signing posters and Brendan walking towards me, he shook my hand, and said hey!
So,..we sat down on the sofa beside brendan, and chatted away to him, about how I got to the gig, and stuff in general! We talked about the board, and frogs, and the gig, and how great Shira is! lol
He signed our cd, and we got plenty of pics, we also got a signed poster, and we were gonna get t shirts, but they were packed away! So..we chatted to the guys, but then unfortuantely had to go!
We got a group photo, and then a hug from Brendan, and we left! We headed back to the lift..and me and Ashley stood in silence..I think it was shock! lol
So thats my story, it really was the best day of my life! I cant believe I met them, it all happend so quickly! All in one day!!
Im sure all the new frogs will have a more great times like this when they first meet wheatus! :)
