Argentinean ArmorArgentina bases her armored forces on the locally produced tracked platform, TAM, derived from the german IFV "Marder". The program involved the development of a 30 ton tank armed with a 105 mm gun , an IFV and other variants like ARV and SPA. Because of budgetary reasons, production was terminated with barely 400 vehicles (including all types) being actually finished, licenses returned and TAMSE facility reduced to maintenance activities.
Lack of armoured wheeled personnel carriers (APC or IFV) is noticeable. Some obsolete american WWII M3 haltrack cover this gap. | Argentinean inventory include also some austrian and french tank hunters. French armored cars stand for wheeled mobility.
