GVSU Update: I am currently a graduate of Grand Valley State University, home of the Lakers. I got my degree as a double major in Business Marketing/Management in Allendale, Michigan (2004). I was an active member of the Grand Valley State Marching Band as an assistant instructor and as a player on bass #2. In 2003 I joined two clubs and chapters at GVSU (The American Marketing Association & Society for the Advancement of Management ). My roomate for the fall of 2004 was Patrick Womble.

Seidman College of Business Overview: While being a business major at the Seidman College of Business, my marketing experiences have granted me the opportunity to work with several business in the Grand Rapids area. While taking management classes, I have also been active in a number of "out of class" learning opportunities.

In the field of marketing research, the Saugatuck Public school district became my client. Research and surveys --taken by the Faculty of this district-- identified that teamwork, communication, and student activities were their chief concerns.

While being an intern at Royal marketing, media relations, promotions, and negociating with clients became essential. Many of our clients were in the local Grand Rapids area including Chow Hound, Al & Bob's, and Play it Again Sports.

In management, setting up a coat drive was amongst the most admirable of my many experiences. The coat drive was planned by me and 5 other students. The idea was to have a coat drive with a specific target market: "coats for kids". Over 500 coats were donated to the Grand Rapids community school district as a result. This was an important because nearly 70% of the families that had belonged to the school district were at or below the poverty line.

In 2004, I became the Vice President of the Society for the Advancement of Management (AKA: SAM). Because of a transition period from semester to semester the group has become small, but very close knit. Our case study was on the Pharmaceutical company called GSK. The case studies are used at the yearly Conference for SAM. The 2003 Conference was in Baltimore, Maryland
