Waves National




Waves National is an organization open to all former or present women of the various sea services.
These include Navy, Coast Guard, Yeomen F, Marines and Navy Nurse Corps.

We are still something special and still going strong.
We currently have over 6700 members in the United States, three units in Minnesota

Become a member of Waves National and add something special to your life.
As a member you will receive six informative newsletters yearly to keep up on current events and activities of the organization.
The yearly dues are very economical so why not become a member?
Do you ever wonder what happened to your service buddies? We may have them as members.



ACTIVITIES INCLUDE

Conferences in odd years.
Conventions in even years.
Publications about Navy women.
Visiting Women Veterans in V.A. facilities.
Parades.
Memorial Dedications.
Highlights of Womens contributions to Armed Services.
Locator column in the newsletter "White Caps"
Programs and benefits for Women Veterans.
Representation in V.A. Volunteer Services.

Members of Waves National meet monthly, bimonthly or quarterly according to their preference.
Meetings often include luncheons and sometimes include interesting speakers or programs.

Waves National is one of the sponsors of the Museum of Navy Women, located at the Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois.

Lake Superior Waves Unit #141 meet in Duluth, Minnesota.

October 18, 1997 I attended the dedication of the Women in Military Service for America (WIMSA) at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery, in Washington D.C.



WAVES NATIONAL CONVENTION INFORMATION
July20-26, 1998
Our 1998 convention was held in Hawaii on July 20-26.
If you missed it why not make plans to attend the next on in Ohio? It would be a great way to celebrate the year 2000.

If you are not a member, but eligible, now is a good time to join you may see some friends from your Navy days at a convention or conference soon.
