“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Re 22:18 –19)
Evil men have done just that. Rome, for centuries has hated our Bible. At the Council of Toulouse, in 1229, they placed the Bible on the forbidden book list and forbade any layman to read it. The Council of Trent, declared it a condemned book. Pius VIII decreed that no version of the Bible in the vulgar tongue be permitted. The Council went as far to say, “The Bible translated would cause more evil than good”.
Isaiah 5:20 says:“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
Yet, the printing of the English Bible has proved to be the GREATEST BARRIER to stop the advance of popery and to expose the papacy. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out why they didn’t want the common people to have the scriptures. The truth would be out, and they would be exposed for the liars they are.
Ask yourselves this question: Is it wrong to hate a system?” I personally hate any blasphemous system that enslaves the souls of men. I hate it because it stands between God and man AS IF IT HAD THAT RIGHT!!!. I hate it because multitudes have been lost believing in a false gospel.
Psalms 119:128 says:“Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.”(Psalms 119:104)
In Final Authority, by Bill Grady, it says:“To regain her corner on the market, Rome created an elite para-military Gestapo unit that would make Himmler’s SS appear like a Sunday school….sparking what historians call, the counter-Reformation. The infamous Society of Jesus was founded by Ignatius De Loyola in 1534, more commonly known as the Jesuits….” They are the most militant arm of papal power to this day. Their goals were to reclaim those that had left Catholicism and to attack the reliability of the Textus Receptus. They would use ANY METHOD to regain control including confiscation, treachery, torture and assassination. Jesuits will stop at nothing to bring the whole world under subjection to the Vatican. The Jesuits ploy was to entice Protestants back to Rome. They knew they could not bring anyone back into the bondage of Catholicism as long as true believers clung to the pure text. So the Jesuits plotted to replace our Bible with pro-Catholic readings of Jerome’s Vulgate. This would cause the Protestant scholars to believe our text was unreliable, unreadable and not scholarly. Once programmed, the scholars would attack the pure text, all the while, believing they were doing God’s service.
Well….guess what? ….the Jesuits didn’t have to wait long my friend!!! As their plans were being implemented by none other than John Anthony Hort, and Brooke Foss Wescott, two of the most ungodly, ignorant men to have ever tried to destroy the pure text of the Textus Receptus, replacing it with corrupt manuscripts from Vaticanus and Sinaticus.
Dr. Bill Grady said it best in his book, Final Authority: “Wescott and Hort, were a pair of unsaved liberals whose open Vatican sympathies cast them as the consummate Jesuit plants.”
This statement is 100% true. I intend to expose them for the false teachers they are.
Here is just a small sampling of what these men really believed.
Hort:
1. Was a follower of Darwin...in other words, he believed in Evolution.
2. Did not believe in blood atonement. What a surprise that the NIV removes “through his blood” in Col.1:14.
3. Doubted angels were for real.
4. Was pondering several degrees of salvation. That’s why the newer versions always say “are being saved” or “were saved”, but unlike the KJB which says we “ARE SAVED”.
5. Rejected an eternal hell. Maybe that’s why “hell” is taken out 40 of the 53 times in the NIV.
Wescott:
1. Did not believe in a literal heaven...much like the pope today.
2. Said there is no second coming of Christ. My friends, Titus 2:13 says, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”
3. He believed the writings of mystics was profitable to read.
4. Thought the first three chapters of Genesis could not possibly have given a literal history.
5. Rejected the infallibility of scriptures.
6. Claimed it was improbable that the miracles of the Bible really occurred.
Wescott went on to say that he could not speak of the Old Testament with adequate knowledge. Hort even admits his ignorance of the Hebrew and Greek. He said, “I have all but discarded them.” Can you people HONESTLY tell me that these are the kind of men we are to trust in translating the Bible truthfully. Does not 2 Tim.2:2 instruct that the word should be committed unto “FAITHFUL MEN”?
Here is comment from Wescott that is just beyond blasphemous!!!! And I quote: “As far as I could judge, the idea of La Salette was that of God revealing Himself now, and not in one form but many.”
Do you know what La Salette is? It is a place in France where two young children seen and talked with an apparition of the Weeping Virgin, and this is what she said: “If my people do not willingly submit I shall be forced to allow the arm of my Son to weigh down. I have had to pray unceasingly lest my Son abandon you….”
The Lord says in Hebrews 13:5-6, “...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”
She goes on to say, “I have given thee six days in which to work, and have marked the seventh day as my own.” Correct me if I’m wrong,
On the seventh day,GOD ended HISwork which HE had made.
Let’s look at the Wescott quote again. “...the idea of La Salette was that of God revealing Himself [now here’s the clincher] not in one form but many.” What IS Wescott trying to say here? That God is appearing as the virgin Mary?
2 Cor.11:14-15 says: “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
Wescott WOULD NOT HUMBLE HIMSELF to believe the miracles in the Bible, but the apparitions of Mary is quite a different thing. On a visit to a Carmelite monastery, he found a private chapel. Inside behind a screen was a Pieta [a statue of a virgin and a dead Christ]. Wescott said, had he been alone, he could have knelt there for hours.
Jeremaih 10:14-15 says, “Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.”
Hort was no better than Wescott. He said he sees no difference between Jesus worship or Mary worship, and said, “They have much in common in there causes and results.”
Isaiah 40:25 “To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.”
Hort wrote in another place, “We dare not forsake the sacraments, or God will forsake us”. The word “sacrament” cannot be found in the scriptures. We are saved by grace through faith and not some silly man-made tradition.
In Samuel Gipps book, An Understandable History of the Bible, we read:“In 1870 the…church of England commissioned a revision of the Authorized Version. A gleam of hope shone in the eye of every Roman Catholic. An eager anticipation filled every Jesuit inspired Protestant scholar…although it was meant to correct a few supposed “error” in the Authorized Version, the textual critics of the day assured themselves that they would never again have to submit to the divine authority of the Universal Text.”
When the dust settled, from these revisers, the pure text was changed in 36,191 places. The result of all these changes is mass confusion and mistrust of all the scriptures impressed upon the minds of scores of people reading these corrupt versions.
Wescott and Hort even started a society to investigate ghosts and the supernatural. It was called the “Ghostly Guild”. Here we have two more reasons these men rejected the pure text so vehemently. They pride into the occult, which is forbidden in scriptures. They departed from the faith, which I find hard to believe they ever had. The prophet spoke well of these men… “I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word.”
My hope is that to encourage people to defend the true word of God. To be very courageous, consider the price that was paid by the martyrs for their boldness in speaking the truth. We should be just as brave in the face of the same age old apostasy. Let us not be guilty of compromise. Let us stand up and do battle, earnestly contending for the faith ONCE delivered to the saints.
People….the Lord is my witness, I am not mean-spirited...I don’t hate anyone. On the contrary, my zealousness is for the one true gospel. My prayer is that everyone ensnared in a false system or reading a corrupt version will hear and understand the importance of Christ and His inerrant word. Your salvation depends upon it!!!!!
