Recipes From The Heart

-Mom's ( and Zachary's) Scalloped Corn-
4 ( 15 oz.) cans whole kernal corn, drained
2 teas. salt
3/4 teas. pepper
4 cups milk
3 cups cracker crumbs
1 teas. sugar
3 eggs
12 Tbls. butter or margarine

Mix all and pour into a large baking dish.
Bake at 325 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes or until
a knife comes out clean.
( This recipe is for a large group, you may want to split it)

This recipe became Mom and my nephew's (then age 4) because she was
making it for Thanksgiving and Zachary was helping.
They were adding things to the bowl when Mom turned around
just for a second. Zachary, who was on a chair next to the sink
filled with soapy water, decided to add one extra thing--Yep, you guessed it,
1 cup of soapy water. It was the year without Scalloped Corn. We all get
a good chuckle when we see this recipe.
