A Letter From Angels in Athens
Hello, my name is Zendra, and I am in charge of a children's home here
in Athen's, Greece. Zendra's Children's Home consist of 120 children, from
many ages. They start from 3 weeks old, up to the age of 15 years old. I met Cherie 2 years ago, at a Greek restaurant. In Greece everyone
sits together in restaurants. When I told her what I do and about the
children I have, and the stories behind them, she did not hesitate and wanted to
be a part of their lives. Ever since that day, Cherie has played an active
role in these children's lives. Some of the older children had no self esteem,
but thanks to her love, kindness, patience, warmth, and endurance, she has
turned these children around. She takes all of them on outings, such as:
swimming, to the park, nature walks, and even purchased from 5 years old and up each
child with their own roller blades. She never forgets them at Christmas, and constantly writes to each one. In our opinion, Cherie is an ideal role
model not only for children, but adults as well. She has touched our lives
forever and has made such a difference in these children. She brings hope,
strength, positive attitude, and a warm smile with her. Her belief is, anyone can
do anything they want, no matter how hard you have had it. You can make a
change. Her determination to show what love is, and to make productive citizens
out of these children is a gift that seems to come natural to her. She never
has anything negative to say. Cherie is like a magnet, she brings you close
to her. Her parents have to be proud for turning out such a beautiful,
young woman. To you Cherie, we say, may only good things come your way. You are as
close to a sweet angel, as they come. You, one day will be the best mother. Your children will be lucky to have you as their role model. You are a very
special person. We love you Cherie, and thank you for coming into our life. Much love to you.
