I am just sick over the firing of Michael Nader. This decision is totally ridiculous.
Michael Nader is an excellent actor. I wonder if the one's who made this decision on
"Crack". I E-mailed Angela Shapiro and asked the question "do you remember
what happened to Another World?" We have to get Nader back, or I'll start tuning in
to Bold & Beautiful. Just a thought Dimitri does not fit with Brook, the characters
personalities do mix. I write letters and post cards and recruit more AMC fans.

last few years, and not renewing Michael Nader's contract is the last straw for me. He was

I believe that if you drop Michael Nader from the show, it will have a great mistake. . I
have been a fan for AMC for many years and watch it everyday. With every new person the
show trys to brings on they seem to fizzle out very fast. example: Jackson's sister. bad
story line. The writers sould invest in the actors and story lines they have now, and
bulid from there, not reaching out for new people and letting go the tried and true.

My favorite character would have to be a tie between Dimitri Marick and Tad Martin - they
both have such chemistry! I hate the idea that they are killing Dimitri off (which is what
I have heard). If they have to let him go (which I don't agree with) at least leave it so
it will be easier to bring Dimitri back!!! I mean, AMC is having enough problems with

AMC BLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do you have the say of what comes and goes? You may write the
scripts for the actors and actresses on the show, BUT if it wasn't for the loyal viewers,
your show would be NOTHING but the lowest on the ratings!!!!And that is exactly where you
are sinking to!..First you killed off Natalie. Then you do it to Maria, not only did you
do it to Maria by pulling her off the show, But does anyone,including Eva LaRue Callahan,
know how many times we have heard about her might be coming back but don't you think
that's hard to do when she's already been Supposedly dead for a couple years now,But it is
also hard to bring a person back to life when they have been a ghost or spirit to her
devoted husband a couple times .Forget confusing the kids on the show, Let's just confuse
the actors instead?!!!!!!!!!How is Edmund going to face life now when his list of dead
family members is longer then his family members who are alive!!!! The poor man. The only
other family with this much tragedy and family death's are the Kennedy's.! UNFORTUNATELY
the Kennedy's are unable to hope for their loved ones to come back in a few years. They
also have other family to rely on during their grief period, Who's Edmund going to turn to
now that everyones gone but his children?

Hate the "summer" story line. Wish they would stop trying to rope in teeny

Natalie from the well. I think he is one of the most interesting and well-developed

I was shocked at this, I didn't even have a clue that Dimitri was being let go. I can't
believe this new woman is going to be a strong character like Dimitri. Just like Edmund

character like Dimitri is as strong as Erica on the show. If you get rid of Dimitri, you

I have been a loyal AMC viewer for over 20 tears and I have never been so frustrated by
the show as I have been lately. This trend of bringing in more and more new characters at
the expense of our old favs is just sickening. It was bad enough when they shipped off our
"Tim", but now Dimitri, too. Where will it stop? Will there be none of the
original and long term characters left before they stop? Is AMC becoming a 90210 or
Melrose Place, catering only to the younger viewers, forgetting about all of us "old
faithfuls"? I love Michael Nadar's performances as Dimitri. Some of my favorite
storylines have involved Dimitri, (including his scenes with Edmund, or Tad, or Erica, of
course!) I will do whatever I can to help keep Michael Nadar on the show, and to get the
message out to the writers and producers of AMC that we like our long time familiar
characters, and we don't need a constant barrage of new faces! If the writers/producers
can not listen to their fans, and if the show continues to do away with our favorite
characters that we KNOW and LOVE - why watch any longer. I don't feel any loyality to, nor
do I have the investment in all these new people. I do care about the long term characters
on the show, but if they are not there any more - I can find better things to do with my

I am very disappointed that Michael Nader is leaving AMC. I believe that Dimitri is a
central character and is very important to the story lines of so many of the other
characters. It would be great to have both Dimitri and Alexandra (Finola Hughes) on the
show in a new story line. I did love her on GH. I have been a loyal fan of AMC since 1974
(25 years!!!!) I have seen a lot of comings and goings...but I believe this one is one of
the worst moves. I am 45 years old and feel you should keep in mind of your olders fans
that don't go for the teeny - boppers (Scott and Becca) types. This won't make me quit
watching AMC, but I WILL sure miss Michael Nader!!!!

I just watched your pathetic storyline on how Dimitri dies and Finola appears as his wife
who doesn't really seem that upset about her newly wed husband passing away. You didn't
even give Edmund, Erica, Brooke, Jillian or Jack time to grieve before throwing in this
strange woman who is Dimitri's new wife. Now, even though Dimitri is very close to his
brother and most of Pine Valley, of course he gets married somewhere overseas and doesn't
say, gee, I should get married at WildWind with all my friends and relatives. No, let me
get married to this woman I just met and let me marry her away from all my loved ones.
Good story line, wow, you guys are really rolling now, I can't wait to see the rest of
this pathetic, ridiculous story line. Wow, I have been a fan since day one and now this is
the end of me as a fan. Maybe it's all for the best...... And, the story with Mateo and
Haley, can't you just let the girl have a baby and let them live happily ever after. No,
let's break them up and throw in all this other horsemarbles with another pathetic
storyline.Mateo and Hayle are meant to be, but they need a family. Let them have a family.
I guess one of them will be next after Michael leaves. And, I am surprised that Miss Erica
didn't say anything to save Michael, I guess she is going to be matched up with David
Haywood and she has no say so. Well, you writers are either OVER THE HILL or OFF IN LA LA
LAND BECAUSE LATELY your stories are pathetic and getting on my nerves. I was also upset
when you got rid of Maria, but this is the last straw. Michael Nader, you will do well
somewhere else where they will treat you with respect and hopefully there will be writers
that know a good storyline and will create another dashing character for you and you will

I am a professional Chartered Accountant, the equivalent of your CPA. in Canada. I have
been watching AMC since the mid 70's, which would put me in my early 50's npw. I would
tape the show every week day and look forward to relaxing for an hour in the evening(often
very late at nite) after a very long and stressful day at the office. This is no longer
the case. I find myself now fast forwarding MOST of the program, wqhich should make your
sponsors cringe, especially since I am in the age group that has the most disposable
income!!! The storylines for the past few years have become so improbable that they defy
even the most remote degree of plausability!!! You have disregarded storylines for the
more mature characters(in most cases) in favour of developing those for the reenage/early
twenties characters. You would do well to remember that targeting viewers in this age
group does nothing for the product sales of your sponsors!!! We, who are in my age
bracket,form the mainstay of your AMC viewers. The most recent example of neglect is the
dropping of Michael Nader and the Dimitri Marick character. The storyline of
Hayley/Matteo/Raquel/Max is so "not of today" that I and many colleagues and
fellow viewers find it necessary to take gravol to fight the nausea. This storyline has
been played out long ago and it is time to finally and mercifully drop it!!! Save for the
talents of Kelly Ripa. the other actors in the abovementioned storyline display minimal
capabilities!!! Scott and Becca have to go as well - their talents are nonexistent!!!
Storylines(ones that are at least plausible)must be provided for the more mature
characters of Edmund, Trevor, Janet, etc. Storyline re Dixie and Tad is becoming as
nauseating and improbable as that of Hayley/Matteo, ditto that of Opal et all!!! The only
good thing you have done of late is the development of the "David" character -
perhaps because he is played by at least one who appears to be talented(but wasting his
time on AMC)!!! Are all the characters in Pine Valley suffering from a severe case of
"the stupids"??? No one on real life would put up with.let alone not see through
the character of Vanessa who is played "over the top". Soaps, while fictional
and "operatic" in plots, should be at least based upon the real life we all have
to deal with on a daily basis. Give me the opera any day - at least there is gorgeous
music and dedicated artists - AMC has lost a very longtime viewer. THIS IS A COPY OF EMAIL

My favorite character on AMC was and is Dimitri--Michael Nader brought reality to the
character. His emotion, his expressions, he IS Dimitri. I am so disappointed in TPTB I
will watch throught this ordeal but if Michael Nader is not brought back to the show, I
will stop watching. I have at least 5 other friends who are of the same opinion...they are
not comfortable stating their comments--how many others will just walk away without
voicing their disapproval. I say SHAME ON YOU!! Fionla Hughes is a great actress, but to
cast Michael away in favor of her shows me you've got your priorities mixed up. It appears

AMC will celebrate it's 30th anniversary in the year 2000, I have been a fan almost since
it's inception, shy a few months of those 30 years. From time to time I have sworn off
because of unpleasent or boring storylines. But I am about ready to go on an extended
sabbatical from this show. The shallow characters, the replusive storylines were so bad
that I was on the verge anyway. The final straw perhaps has just occurred with the
departure of Michael Nader. I do not know what time warp or spaced out fantasy world the
producers of this show are operating from, but it has become misogynistic in nature. I
can't imagine any of the female established actors are even remotely pleased about the
direction of this show. All women are being portrayed as shallow,
brainless,emaciated,needy,sex starved breeding machines. This is why I was about to tune
out. There have been a few saving factors, a few characters of interest, and I was trying
to stick it out. Taping the show & zipping thru to points of interest, escaping as
much of the bad writing as I could. All of the substatial, honorable characters are being
phased out. With the opportunity to raise things to a higher level why would they choose
to debase everyone connected with the show. Have they decided that 30 years is enough? I
just about have. This could all change in a month and it can begin with bringing back
Michael Nader as Dimitri. I mean, we know this is not Shakespear, but it could be a lot
better then it is, this is not even remotely entertaining.

It's a real shame that AMC choose to let Michael Nader go. Finola Hughes is a talented
actress and will probably be a great addition to the show, however she comes at a VERY
high price. There are several other characters they could have let go, Jackson Montgomery,

I have watched AMC from the very first day it aired!! I adore Michael Nader and the show
would be pretty boring without him. He has great chemistry with the other actors. I
thought at first it was a spy-cover-up kind of story line, but now after reading Soap
Opera Digests site, I find out that AMC is not renewing his contract. C'monnnnnnnnnnnn
AMC!!!! He is as much a fixture as is Susan Lucci on AMC. Please, please, please

I am so frustrated that AMC has decided to off Michael Nader from the show. I have watched

I am really disappointed in AMC for letting Michael Nader go. He is a great actor and one
of (what I consider) the core members of the cast. He has been a "storyline

We need Michael Nader on "All My Children". There was no need to let him die off
like that. There was no warning, no sickness, no mention of him having another woman in
his life. We need new writers it appears, unless they have a really good reason for
"seeming" to let him die. They had better come up with a great reason they are
doing this in order to reprieve themselves. Michael brought so much to the program. He is
a great actor, don't do this to the viewers. I have watched "All My Children"
for almost 25 years because that is the only program that really seems natural & has
had story lines that are actually happening in the world, which made it believeable.
Michael Nader has played a very important part in making all these things happen. DO NOT,
I repeat, DO NOT let him go. This Finola Hughes may be a good actress but, in my opinion,
she doesn't fit in Pine Valley or this whole unbelieveable thing the writers have brought
into the program. We need new writers if this is what the ones you have are going to do to
the program. Again, I am hoping the writers are just doing this to get some reaction &
then really zap it to us & Dimi isn't dead after all. You sure have lots & lots of
unhappy people out here. Think you had better do what the viewers want for a change. We
have gone along for years & not said very much, but I think you have gone just too far

I am very upset about micheal nader not being renewed in his contract. He was a character
that should remain on the show and retire from there someday. Too many story possibilities

Michael Nader created a Dimitri with style, flair, and charisma. His Dimitri was always
interesting, intelligent, magnetic, and unforgettable. So many of his scenes were
memorable. Who can forget his grin when, dressed in his workmen's clothing and painting
the set for Julia's wedding, he caught sight of Erica? Or the dance in Hungary? Even when
his character did something evil, Nader managed to make Dimitri compelling and watchable.
I can't imagine All My Children without the actor and the character, because to my mind,

I am appalled at what the head honchos at AMC have done. Instead of leaving the quality
actors to carry the show, they stick these "bubble gum" characters like the

Dimitri is an integral part of AMC. I like seeing some actors who are closer to middle age
-- but still very sexy and whose characters I still (after all these years) find very
interesting. I don't want to see this soap become nothing but a bunch of young
"hunks" like so many of the other soaps have become. AMC seems to deal with more
important issues than other soaps -- it is the only one I watch. I tape it and watch it
after I come home from work every day. Michael Nader should definitely be brought back. I
think that he and Alexandra would make an interesting couple.

I think it's an out and out travesty that Michael Nader was fired! The character is
extremely colorful and deep, we never knew what was going to happen next with Dimi. It's
too bad that Agnes Nixon is blind to the fact that many of us long-time viewers can't
stand the goings on and firings of late. I'm not sure if she's trying to target the
younger adult market or what, but us "older market" folks are getting tired of
the storylines with i.e. Scott and Becca. Bring back Michael N. and keep Belinda. Okay to
let Raqual and the demon-child go -- couldn't stand either of them anyway. And what's with
Mateo? Has he completely lost his mind? One minute it's Hayley, you're the love of my life

I was so crush when I heard the firing of Michael Nader. All I want to know is, WHY? I
want the truth and no B.S. story or excuses. Dimitri is AMC just like Erica, Adam and

Favorite Male Character: Dimitri and Edmund equally.

I have loved and appreciated Michael Naders performances every since he was in some of the
old Annette and Frankies movies. He was especially good in Dynasty and was a great help to
that show and as a love interest for Joan Collins. But the most powerful and sexy role yet
was on All My Children. I am no spring chicken but I find him to be down to earth (money,
power, and all), tenderhearted, thoughtful, considerate of others (he saved Edmund) and he
has all the qualities needed for this show. Why is the world would you cut him out. I see
the opening for bringing him back so get it done - All My Children writers, producers,
directors, and any one else who makes those decisions.

Favorite Male Character: I have several male favorites: Adam, Stuart, Tad, Ryan, Dimi,
Edmund, Mike Roy, Joe, etc......
Comments:
My comments are, too many of the original cast members have been let go, only to be
replaced by different actors/actresses. I have been watching All My Children since it
first aired in January 1970. Some of the storylines have been really good, a few have been
just plain stupid. But I have remained a loyal fan from the beginning. I just wish the
writers would get their acts together and start writing more good material. Also bring
back some of the characters that are up in "Grandma Kates attic".
