Teen Website | Reviewed by | Comments |
---|---|---|
The Teen Spot | Will | The site I first visited is called "The Teen Spot." This website contains some common topics, like chatroom, entertainment, student advice........ The topics are so common, even boring, it is like a school-created website, lack of stuff that "we" are interested in, like sports etc. |
A Page for Teens | Will | The second website I visited is called "A Page for Teens." First of all, the website is not finished yet, there is a lot of blank space, which made no sense. The topics include helps for parents, despair, on-line games, star wars etc. Alot of stuff, huh? Wrong, wrong, wrong, they are fake. Nothing happened after I clicked all of the items. I personally recommend you NOT to use it! |
The 3 Guyz | Will | The fourth one is called"the 3 Guyz." Well, this one is alright, they have some cool stuff, like linkage to different websites, like ESPN, hecklers, comics...... but some of them are pretty stupid, the pictures and profiles of the 3 "Guyz", who cares! But this one is the best so far. |
College Bound Magazine | Will | The last website I visited is called" College Bound Magazine. " The website is the best of the five. It has some useful information about the colleges, topics include CB wired, sports, music, college profiles. This website is recommended. |
For Teen Mothers | Kim | The site I reviewed was For Teen Mothers. This goes over the basics of being a teenage mother. This covers all the things that could happen if you drink while you are pregnant. This site also has a site where it tells you how to be a better parent. This page is a good place where they encourage teenagers to stay in school. This is a really good site. I rate this page a 4 out of 5. |
Teen Advice Online | Kim | This site that I reviewed was Teen Advice Online. This is a really good site for teenagers. This goes over all the thing a teenager goes through from Dating to Safe Sex. I really like this web site. I rate this page a 5 out of 5. |
Teen Movie Critic | Kim | This site I reviewed was called Teen Movie Critic. This was a fairly good site. It has a lot of links to go to. It has a good site for looking at places to rent in your own town. I would give this a 4 out of 5. |
The Teen Place | Kim | This site I reviewed was Teen Place. This is not a very good website. It didn't have alot of words in it. It was kind of boring. I would give this a 1 out of 5. |
Teen Voice | Kim | This site I reviewed was Teen Voice. This is a good website. This page has polls, what's hot and a movie review. I would give this a 4 out of 5. |
Cool Junk | Cory | Cool Junk is a site for Girls from the ages of 12-15. It is full of shopping things, make-up, and weird little girl things. I think that they should include hints to the gender that the site is for. That is the downfall. For girls in that age group I guess it would be O.K. |
Teen Hangout | Cory | Teen Hangout is a website for girls from the ages of 13 -16. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a little bit on the Simpsons. That was cool. Other than that it was a total girls page. It also had Brad Pitt pictures. I would have to give it a 1 thumb up to the Simpsons but other than that it was a total bust. |
Teen Net | Cory | Teen Net is a cool site for both sexes and is for ages of 12-18. It had things on television, movies, sports, music, and games. It also had things for the college bound. It had resources and list of other cool sites. I give it a 2 thumbs up. |
Student Center | Cory | The Student Center is cool. It is a site for students of almost all ages. It is informative, on news and other issues concerning todays teens. It also has entertainment "news". It has many things for the college bound, and is at the same time fun. I give it a 2 thumbs, and 1 toe up it is cool. |
Yo! | Cory | Yo is a site I kinda like because it is informative. It has articles on teen issues. It is a site for all ages I think. It also has a 5-minute radio show. You can subscribe to Yo on the website. It also refers you to other web sites. I give it a 2 thumbs up for news. |
Teenagers Guide to the Real World | Martina | Teenagers Guide to the Real World is really cool. There is a lot of informative information in this site. It's real specific and it doesn't leave you in the clouds. |
Teen Advice Online | Martina | Teen Advice Online is cool, too. They've got really cool graphics for teens. It seemed to me that they were really interested in helping others thier counselors were people from 15-21 years old. (they even gave info about themselves). And they are pretty specific, too. |
Street Cents | Martina | And for my last review: Streetcents, To put it lightly is really boring. They have too many graphics which makes things go :(really:( slow. They have topics that didn't catch my eye. And personally I thought that it was a waste of ime just to write about it. |
Mapping Your Future | Kyle | Mapping Your Future is an organization based on helping people get higher education and career oportunities. They have seven main topics that people can choose from to get help with: planning a career, selecting a school, paying for school, middle and high school students, college student, student loan borrower, and parent. I believe that this site is an alright type of help for people. |
College Bound Magazine | Kyle | College Bound Magazine is a student's interactive guide to college life. It has a few things set up for designated problems college students' have. I don't really understand much of this site because I'm not in college. I guess if you were in college it would help you get through it easier. |
Straight Talk About School | Kyle | Straight talk about schools is a group that have set out to help teens with their problems. They answer your questions about life, school, and other various problems. Each month they have different themes. Most of the time they reflect activities and messages you can find in the Straight Talk About Classrooms kit. The kit was developed by the GTE foundation and the National Association of Secondary School Principals in 1993 to help students achieve their personal best. |
Interactive Learning | Kyle | Interactive learning can be achieved from their webpage at http://balancenet.org. I think that this is a very good source of information for teens to find what they need. I believe that it talks of important issues that affect us today. It also has experts that are qualified to help you with your problems. I would probably recommend this webpage to anybody that asks me about getting help. |
Spank--Youth Culture Online | Jesse | The first review I have done is of the Spank.com site. This site was done by two girls my age. It features music, movies, and popular-culture reviews. I liked this site because it was done by other teenagers, and not a bunch of adults. You have the option of signing the guest book and seeing the ultimate guy pictures. I would rate this a 4 on the finger scale. The finger scale is how many fingers I would cut off to use this site. |
Yo! | Jesse | The next site I have reviewed is the YO site. This site really is bad. It talks about contemporary issues but it doesn't speak the language of todays teen. It was mostly teen feedback about the current Iraq situation. On the finger scale I would give this a zero. |
Street Cents Online | Jesse | The last site I have reviewed is Street Cents Online. This site was smaller than the previous sites I have rviewed. It featured a wheel with different topics around it. The topics were backstage, library, and forum. This site was done by canadiens, and wasn't very interesting. On the finger scale it gets a 2. |
MidLink Magazine | Brian | I guess this magazine would be all right for the kids ages 10-12. Since the magizine is created by kids, for kids in the middle grades. A bad thing about it is that it is only published four times each year: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. But every issue will have a new and exciting theme. |
Tiger Beat | Brian | The web site "Tiger Beat" is a wonderful website for purchasing movie stars and TV stars Merchandise, such as a gorgeous full page, color photo of your favorite movies. Also has calender's and posters of your favorite actors. |
