I
am still trying to learn what happened with Gertie Klutts,
Henry Ellis Klutts, Hazel Klutts and Joyce Klutts. When and
where they married and who they married. That will end my
Klutts research for the Klutts family since my direct line is
Fletchers. I presume that Gertie died, since Cindy a
Klutts Family descendant did not know about Gertie.

The Story Behind Ida Jane Fletcher Klutts
Not much
information is known for sure about Ida. The little
known about her, shows she endured a hard life, although a
happy one. She married at the age of 14 years old, John Henry
Klutts. It is told by my grandmother, Mattie Fletcher Tucker,
that after Ida married she cared for her younger brothers and
sisters until they were able to care for themselves.
John Henry Klutts had to of been a wonderful man and loved
Ida Jane Fletcher very much to marry her and take in her
younger brothers and sisters and raise them to adulthood.
They were both very young at the time and took on a huge
responsibilty for newly married couples. Together they
managed to raise the Fletcher children, along with their own
children, and this combined family grew up together until
each child married and went on to raise families of their own.
The story also mentions that Ida's mothers family, the Dodson
family of Tennessee. Sent money to Texas for these Fletcher
children to purchase train tickets. Their mothers family was
willing to take the Fletcher children and help to raise them
once they got to Tennessee. However, once Ida's oldest brother
Lucien recieved the money, he spent it all before the tickets
were ever bought. Therefore, the Fletcher children had to
remain in Texas, since the Dodson family could not afford to
send more money for train tickets. It was after this incident
that Ida Jane Fletcher married John Henry Klutts.
This Klutts family can first be found 1900 in Crandall, Kaufman
County, Texas. Where Lydia and Winnie Fletcher are still living
in the Klutts home. By this time John and Ida had 4 children of
their own. Their fifth known child, Henry Ellis Klutts was born
in July 1900. It was after his birth and before the birth of
their
sixth known child Hazel Klutts that John and Ida Klutts moved
their family to Oklahoma. It was not long after the move to
Oklahoma that Ida Jane Fletcher Klutts died 1914 in Pushmataha
County, Oklahoma, where she is buried in Jumbo Cemetery.
Even though John Henry Klutts married two more times after
Ida's death, he was buried next to Ida, his first wife.
Some of the Klutts children remained in Oklahoma, while others
moved their family west to California. The families that went
to California also lived close to other families from the
Descendants of Benjamin Patton Fletcher. Some of them knowing
their cousins and staying in touch. While others did not know
they had cousins as close as neighbors.
