"Gone to Rest"
"Permelia Jane Thompson dead at her home July 3, 1909. Grandma Thompson as she was commonly called was born in Tenn. June 14, 1819, aged 90 years and 19 days. She joined the Methodist Church at the age of 18 years and lived a devoted Christian, being a great influence for good, and was loved by all who knew her.
She moved with her husband and children from Tennessee to Missouri in 1855.
She was the mother of 10 children, six of whom are stil living, 2 boys and 4 girls. Her husband died in 1863. She lived a widow the remaining 46 years of her life. While we miss her loving face and her presence here we should not grieve for we know that she is at rest in Heaven with Jesus and her loved ones who have gone before.
Let us all try to live the life Grandma lived, do all the good which she did, and reap the reward which we know was hers.
