The First Meetings:
Little Aiko was sitting in the park in a sandy sandbox.  Little Yusuke was sitting in front of her, playing with a shovel.  They were two.  Little Aiko looked up and smirked her bestest evil smirk and picked up her sand-filled toy truck and tossed it at Little Yusuke, who was unsuspecting of the flying truck.  It hit him square in the face.  He looked up and rubbed sand out of his eyes.  Little Aiko kept smirking as Little Yusuke got up angrily and tried to punch her.  She ducked and he went sailing into the sand.  Then, Little Aiko got up and turned around to face the fallen Little Yusuke.  She held out her hand to help him up and he took it.  Then, they walked hand in hand to the swings and talked their best talk to each other.  And that folks, is how it all began.

Now they're four and fighting maniacs.  Aiko and Yusuke are already well-known in their Kindergarten.  They were walking through the thin hallways of Sarasaki Kindergarten, shoving kids out of their way.  A group of four boys in blue were standing in the middle of the hallway.  Aiko stomped up to them and yelled, "Hey, Ugly!"  A boy with red hair and beady little eyes turned around to face her.  Yusuke started giggling; Aiko glared at him, making him stop, "I heard about you.  You're Kazuma Kuwabara.  You're that big loser that tries to live up to your own name.  I hate kids like you."  Aiko spat on the tile floor of the school and growled.  Kuwabara growled back and his groupies pulled up in a line behind him.  "Ooo, got your little teammates to help you?  Well, I got one too," Yusuke walked up to her side and smirked, crossing his arms.  "Together, we're the Great Urameshi and Matsumoto team!  Nothing you do can stop us!"  Suddenly, an all out fight broke out in the hall.  Kuwabara charged Yusuke, he didn't hit girls, and the others attacked Aiko, all falling from strong kicks from the small girl.  "Heh, that all you got, buddy?"  Yusuke was blocking Kuwabara's punches and Kuwabara had a concentrated look on his face,  "No, I got more where this came from!"  He kicked up and Yusuke dodged to the side, "Too slow, freak."  Kuwabara snarled and tried to hit him again.  Yusuke caught his fists and threw Kuwabara to the side.  Aiko clapped mockingly as Kuwabara hit the ground and tried to get up.  "I'm not done yet, Urameshi."  He tried to push himself off the tile, but had some help as the principal, Ms. Ebisawa, came to the scene.  "Who started this predicament?"  She asked.  Yusuke and Aiko looked at each other and raised their hands, not the least bit scared.  "You two?  Come with me."  She dragged all the ones who fought by their ears to her office, which was filled now with six tussling four-year-olds.  "Stop it, all of you!  Now, why did you do this, children?"  "Because he's ugly," Aiko pointed to Kuwabara who leered back at her.  "Now, Aiko!  Is that a nice thing to say about Kazuma?"  "Yeah, because it's a major understatement."  Ms. Ebisawa frowned, "Miss Matsumoto, do you know what we do to misbehaving children?"  Aiko smirked and shook her head, "Well, we punish them.  Do you know what a punishment is?"  Aiko rolled her eyes and nodded.  "Well then, you shouldn't be surprised at what you'll have to do."
Aiko slopped soapy water all the way down her front when she redipped the rag into the bucket.  She sighed and started scrubbing again.  "I can't believe, just because I told the truth, I'm here, cleaning this darned school."  Kuwabara looked at her, "Well the truth wasn't very nice.  You got all of us in trouble."  "You fought back!"  Yusuke slammed his rag on the concrete, "Why the heck are we here?!  We don't have to do what they tell us!  This is retarded!"  He stomped off, Aiko following his lead.  Kuwabara and his friends shrugged and did the same.
"You left your punishment to go and fight some more?!"  They were all back in Ms. Ebisawa's office.  "It was boring!"  Aiko protested, slamming her small, but powerful, fist on the desk.  Ms. Ebisawa looked appalled, "I have never, Aiko Matsumoto, you are going to detention this evening with Mr. Sekozawa!  How dare you?!"  Yusuke smirked at her, and when they left, he punched her shoulder and she pushed him into the wall.
Aiko sat with her hands folded and feet hanging above the ground in a desk in front of Mr. Sekozawa.  He paced back and forth in front of her, "I have a good friend, Mr. Takanaka.  He's going to be your principal in Jr. High."  "Yeah yeah, if I go to Jr. High."  Aiko sighed and started hitting her head on her desk.  Mr. Sekozawa rushed to stop her head hitting the hard, wooden desk, "Why are you doing that?"  "Because this is so boring."  Mr. Sekozawa nodded and began pacing again.  "Why are you walking back and forth like that teach?"  Mr. Sekozawa stopped and said, "Because I'm bored too."  He sat down in his desk and took a pen from a cup.  He tore a piece of paper from a pad and drew something on it.  He handed it and the pen to Aiko who looked perplexedly at him.  The drawing was of half a dog.  "Draw whatever you want and give it back to me when you're done."  Aiko nodded and remembered that Mr. Sekozawa was the art teach.  She started drawing a fish tail with spikes on it and then gave the dog-fish wings and pointed ears.  Then, Aiko got up and shoved the paper under her detention teacher's nose.  He looked down at it and smiled, "You are very creative.  This is a good drawing.  Would you like me to display it?"  Aiko shook her head, "I don't want people thinkin' I'm some kinda art buff or anything.  But, you can keep it."  Mr. Sekozawa smiled wider, "I think I will.  Thank you, Aiko."  She nodded and went back to her seat.  "Oops, time's up.  Better go home now."  Aiko shot out of the classroom at top speed.
Kuwabara, his friends, Yusuke, and Aiko were standing all on one side of the street fight.  Whoever's side won this one would go onto splitting up, then whoever won that would stay and fight each other one on one on one on, well, you get the idea.  A big kid blew a whistle and both sides, one in green, honoring the last winner, Yusuke, and the other in red, duked it out in an all out match.  Yusuke, Aiko, and Kuwabara were fighting as a team now, all on one side.  The green team won, as usual.  Well, it wasn't always green.  It was usually more black, Aiko's color, than anything.  The green team members, who had worn another color under their green shirts, split up and the opposing team to the one Yusuke and Aiko were on pulled off green to reveal blue, Kuwabara's color.  The same kid blew the whistle and the teams killed each other.  The only fighters remaining were Yusuke, Kuwabara, Aiko, and a few other unknown kids.  The whistle was blown one last time, and the fight began.  Yusuke and Aiko were left, blocking each other's moves and not really getting anywhere.  Suddenly, Yusuke made an unblockable side-kick into Aiko's gut.  She doubled over and head-butted his leg from where she kneeled.  Her head was like a titanium rod, it struck him so hard, he keeled over and clutched his leg.  Yusuke staggered back up and ran at her, she was still holding her stomach.  He punched out hard, but she moved, making it graze her ear.  The fight got more intense and the guy with the whistle just stared at the movements.  Aiko punched Yusuke's shoulder and he jerked back.  Yusuke drop-kicked Aiko's back and she fell, but got right back up and slammed her head into his stomach.  He looked like he was going to throw up.  He stumbled backwards into a tree and slammed into the trunk.  Yusuke slumped down the tree and waved his finger in the air.  Surrender.  Aiko won again.  Another big kid with a knife came by and Aiko pulled up her sleeve.  The kid drew a mark in her arm, a tally mark.  Her full number of marks was forty-two.  Just two more than Yusuke.  Aiko walked over to Yusuke and held out her bruised hand to him.  He took it and she lifted him up by it.  Yusuke patted Aiko on the back; she and him walked out from under the bridge towards the pond.  She had a small knife in her pocket.
Aiko finished her carving in the tree.  It was a jagged heart with an arrow through it that read: A.M. + Y.U.  Yusuke smiled and she took her shoes off like him.  They sat on the fishing dock and their little feet dragged in the water.  Yusuke slipped his hand in hers and they tried to kiss, but Yusuke missed and kissed Aiko's ear instead.  Aiko gave him a strange look and hugged him instead.  He smiled and so did she.  Atsuko popped out from behind a tree with a Sonoma camera and snapped a picture of them hugging.  Aiko was in a green t-shirt with overalls and her shoes were by the dock.  Yusuke was in his little green suity thing with his black shoes behind him.  Yusuke jerked away to yell, "Ma!  Why'd ya go and do that?!"  Atsuko grinned, "Because you two looked so cute!"  Aiko only rolled her eyes while Yusuke stood up and charged his young mother, only 19.  "Wait Yusuke, I gotta tell you something.  I got a boyfriend!  His name's Utamuro and he's really nice.  You might have a father!"  Yusuke stopped and blinked, "Huh?"  "Yeah, you might get a daddy if Utamuro and I fall in love!  But, don't get your hopes up.  Just, remember, no one could ever replace your real daddy."  Atsuko skipped away with her camera.  Yusuke raised an eyebrow, or at least attempted to.  Aiko giggled and stood up, throwing Yusuke's shoes at his back.  "Ow, don't do that!"  "Too bad."
