BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Jeanne Baker is a singer, songwriter, and producer, who enjoys, among other things: her family, friends, furry friends, archaeology, history, exploring ancient myths and current scientific theories.  An early musical claim to fame occurred when she was honored by being recommended by Mrs. DeLores Brown to be a participant in the Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) event held at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.  She was selected to attend this state-wide event with others who were similarly selected to sing together and make an album. Technically, this was her first album.

She studied voice under the Late Anna Lucy Smiley, and piano under the Late Mrs. Ruth Matheny.  She is past Vice President of the Quad-City Area Archaeological Society while member of the Iowa-Illinois Archeological Society, and former President of the Morton Historical Society. She enjoyed membership in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) whilst residing in North Carolina. Jeanne said it was a lot of fun because it was like time travel where everyone dressed in medieval garb and “spoke forsoothly”. She is currently a member of ASCAP, and other organizations. She enjoys traveling and researching her topics of interest, interacting with people, and, of course, singing and writing songs.

Born in the United States of America, she spent several years living abroad in South Africa, Belgium and Poland, as well as some time in the United Kingdom checking out the sites.  She found the people of these countries and others she has visited to be lovely and good-natured.

Her hope is that we can find the best in all people, and help those who are sad, naughty, angry, and frightened to find their way back to the goodness residing within all of us.

DEDICATION

I dedicate this album to my family, friends, furry friends (including the newest member of our family, Lady Aubrey Elven Princess), and fans.  I also dedicate it to fellow seekers after knowledge, and all who are imbued with imagination, especially imagination that helps Mother Earth and life on our planet.  And finally to my late canine friends, Thandi, who passed away while I was finishing this album, Tasha, and Spicy, and my daughter's and her family's dog, Molly. I miss you all so much.  The ache and sorrow of your passing is profound.  I cherish you all and have been enriched by your unconditional love. I know you are patiently waiting for me with tails wagging on the other side of the gate.
