History: after the Xillian’s plans to take over Earth started to fall apart thanks to the appearance of Godzilla, the mysterious Monster X was sent as the last resort. Traveling in the meteorite known as the Gorath, it hurled towards Earth at great speed but was destroyed in mid-air by Godzilla. Monster X floated down from the explosion, landing near Godzilla and starting the final battle. An upgraded Gigan and Mothra soon joined the fray, but ended up killing each other. When Godzilla started to gain the upper hand, Monster X transformed into Kaiser Ghidorah.

In the Final Wars movie, the classic King Ghidorah has the new ability of being found in two forms. The "Monster X" form is of a more human-like design, one that is faster, more agile, and more versatile. He’s able to brawl with the best of them, but doesn’t have the powerful control of gravity rays that the full-fledged "Kaiser Ghidorah" has.

History: During the final battle between Xillian and Earth’s forces, between Monster X and Godzilla, Monster X transformed into Kaiser Ghidorah. Being more powerful than the previous form, Ghidorah managed to beat Godzilla to the point where he was draining the life energy out of Godzilla. Thanks to an influx of energy from the Gotengo attack sub, Godzilla managed to break free. He destroyed one of Ghidorah’s heads and used the left head to shoot off the right. He then hurled Ghidorah into the sky and blasted it into pieces using a powerful spiral thermonuclear blast.

Although larger and bulkier then Monster X, and thus slower and less agile, Kaiser Ghidorah is still the more powerful form. Devastating physical attacks are complemented with powerful gravity ray blasts. Combined with the ability to violently move other kaiju from the distance, Kaiser Ghidorah ends up being one of the more powerful monsters around. Nearly beating Godzilla is one result of the sheer power.
