Interview with Dan Rowland

Dan Rowland

Film Credits:

Ravage, Kitty Killers.

1. When did you first decide you wanted to be an actor?

Ive always enjoyed performing. even as a child I would put on "plays" for my family. I would tack up a bed sheet for a curtain and make them all sit in front like an audience and perform something horrible I made up on the spot.

2. At what age did you first get your big break in the film business?

My first big break was Ronnie giving me the main role in Ravage. I had done some student films and was a zombie extra for Borderline before that but Ravage was my first BIG role. I guess I was around 32.

3. Who was your biggest influence on film making?

My Bigest inflence is William Shatner with a little Joan Crawford thrown in to totally take it over the top.

4. Did you have to go to college for learning the arts of acting?

Ive never studied acting in any educational sence. Ive learned from life I guess. Everyone puts on a front to everyone else so WE all are acting everyday.

5. Can you make a living off of making Independent films?

Ive never made a Dime of of acting in any Borderline work. Its always been about teamwork and everyone giving a little so we could all have a finished piece of work. Now on the other hand I make $50K a year off of my Porno jobs. "Im hung like a Horse"

6. What is the difference between Independent films and Studio films?

Fewer dweebs to answer to. Studio films have studio bosses who want you to do what they say because its "their money" and indepentents have Artsy-Fartsy Writer-Directors who want you do do what they say because it is their "vision" so both are jack-offs to a certain degree.

7. What is your favorite genre of film?

Comedy. although I seem to really like movies that will move me to cry. I guess I like honest emotions that I rarely get in the real world from real people.

8. What is your favorite all time movie?

thats always a hard question because the answer is always linked to how I feel at the time. Right now at this moment I would say "RAISING ARIZONA"

9. Do you use any kind of math in this profession?

I always use math to figure out for Ronnie Sortor how not to set me on fire (he's done it twice) and also the least percentage chance to get home after a shoot with fake blood covering me and not be seen by the cops.

10. What is your favorite part about being an actor?

well it seems that sales are greater in europe so I hope that some tutonic hairy armpitted german women will make me the next love object over there. Hey the french worship Jerry Lewis and Mickey Roark so stranger things have happened.
