This is the story about a Tiger Clan in the Kamchatka Penninsula of Siberian Russia. This Clan is ruled by Dar'Silar and his mate, Dar'Zina. Khokosta, their loyal servant, keeps watch over all that happens in the region. The plot thickens when Silar and Zina have a new cub, an albino tigress named Swala, who will be the next ruler of the lands by birth rights. Magwa, the father of Sh'gat, is furious, though he doesn't show it around Silar. His son, Sh'gat would have been the next Dar if it hadn't been for Swala's birth. He develops an intense hatred towards the cub and turns his son against her. Sh'gat, determined to show his father he isn't a failure in life, devises a most hideous plan to take the throne from Silar and take it for himself. A peaceful sunny day suddenly turns black as night, thus casting A SHADOW OVER the lands of KAMCHATKA.
Bhata -- The Tiger who has been Swala's friend since cubhood. Their love grows during their perilous journey to save their clan. Swala is more determined than ever to claim Bhata as her mate and must prove that an albino is worthy of a normal tiger such as Bhata.
Sh'Gat --Cousin of Silar, he would have been appointed ruler of the Kamchatka clan if it hadn't been for the birth of the little 'bundle' of firey fur.."Swala.." Swala! That name echoes through Sh'Gat's head day in and day out. How could an ALBINO ruler before him! HE was the rightful ruler! Every night the anger and jealousy grows inside of Sh'gat . Finally he says to himself "I must do something.."
Zina -- mother of swala mate to Silar.
She is a calm/quiet mate who likes to care for her family and
the cubs of the clan.
Amur -- Zina's twin elder sister..rambunctious, completely opposite of Zina. Thoough they love each other dearly, Zina sometimes grows nervous about Amur, .fearing she might one day get injured from her rowdiness..
Chipper the Fox Cub
Chipper -- The young fox cub that Khokosta, Bhata and Swala find on their journey. Khokosta and Chipper will develop an unusual relationship in the future.
Callisto -- head of Sh'Gat's Army force, and Khkosta's brother. He is known to all as THE GOLDEN LEOPARD, and for good reason.
Magwa
Magwa -- Sh'Gats father..He killed Sh'Gat's mother when she stopped producing cubs after Sh'gat and blames Sh'gat for that. He doesn't speak to him much except to remind him that he is a loser and a lowlife, and wil never amount to anything in life. Sh'gat becomes enraged at his father's treatment and knows he must do "something" to prove him wrong.
Khokosta -- Snow Leopard. The honorable and loyal servant/messanger/advisor to Silar Always ready at a moment's notice. He is so serious in his work that he can be annoying but in a humorous manner!
