KRODH

Macho
man Sunil Shetty makes a comeback after a long gap
with Krodh. With the popularity dip that
action films have seen of late, Shetty has found very few offers coming his way.
Given the right role, he is not a bad actor. But his directors always tend to
see him as a mean fighting machine and the sudden spate of syrupy romances saw
Shetty getting sidelined.
Now that there are clear signs that the audiences are getting tired of too many
mushy tales, there is a strong chance of revival for action heroes like
Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty.
Krodh is a remake of a hit Telugu film, Hitler.
In typical Telugu style, the film is a mixed bag of romance, action and
melodrama. Rambha, the hottest property of South
India, is paired with Shetty. Bosom-heaving gyrations accompanying the songs are
aplenty here. The film also has its share of loud dialogues and hysterical
outbursts - the standard masala in Telugu films.
Krodh may not be a great movie for Shetty to
gain public appreciation. Clearly, the guy has his eyes on the box office this
time. More importantly, the film will whet the audience appetite for Priyadarshan's
Hera Pheri, where Shetty is paired with Tabu and co-stars Bollywood's
other macho man Akshay Kumar.
