STORY

The movie takes place in Georgetown, specifically the MacNeil house, where the sweet, young, innocent Regan MacNeil happens to live. So after weird occurances start to happen in the MacNeil house. So, soon, Regan begins to experience weird occurances. For example, telling someone that they're going to die, her bed shaking, her body jerking back and forth, and so on. She finally has the big voice change, and we find out that she is possessed by a demon, maybe even the devil himself.  Mrs. MacNeil finally calls in a preist and asks about performing an exorcism. But Father Karras says no, until that is, he speaks with Regan. Seeing that she can all of the sudden speak Latin, English backwards, and that she sounds more like the devil than a 13 year old girl, the priest changes his mind. He highly believes that Regan is possessed, and permission is granted to perform an exorcist with the help of the experienced Father Merrin. The deed is done, but not without struggle. I'll let you find the rest out for yourself...

OPINION

Well with the re-release of The Exorcist, I'm getting ready to go see this flick in the theater, something i have never done befre. This is definitely the scariest film I have ever seen, and I'm sure that the guys at Warner Brothers have done their best to make it even scarier this time around. I went out one Saturday, rented this film about 2:00 PM, and didn't watch it till about midnight. God, I was scared to death. The whole atmosphere of the film is eerie, let alone the appearence of Linda Blair, and that voice. Many people have told me they laughed at this film, but I just say I don't see how they can when this was based on true happenings.  Yes people, Catholic priests are trained to preform exorcisms. Shows how much they know, they just walk away without saying a word. Well, anyway, the acting was tremendous, as was the special effects. I watched the Making of The Exorcist, and it was amazing what they did for those effects. It was so simple. Well, to sum it all up, this movie is a MUST-see for any true horror fan. Go rent it, or better yet go to the theater right away!
