Scary Movie **

Let's face it, "Scary movie" was never going to be a classic. It could however have been ninety minutes of guilty pleasure along the lines of "Airplane", "Top Secret", and even this year's "Deuce Bigalow". Instead we get 2 or 3 amusing moments as the film-makers struggle to take the piss out of the horror genre.

Reference is made to most of the recent crop of lame horror movies, but merely referring to these films isn't enough. The Wayans seem to have forgotten to extract any humour from these references and for a large part of the film you could actually be watching a standard teen horror flick, which just goes to show how bad they really are.

Back in the 80s, the Wayans made the mistake of trying to lampoon an already laughable genre, Blaxploitation, with "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka". Seems some people never learn. P.S. With so much crude sexual humour on display, couldn't someone have gotten their tits out? It's not like Shannon and Carmen haven't done it before.
