Touched By Murder (1994)

.

The Story:

Tim Arthur is the star of this pretty straightforward murder/mystery, playing Keith Savage, a low-budget film director who's latest concoction, an adaptation of "Spoon River Anthology", is a monumental flop, lambasted by the critics. After his producer/partner dumps him, there is a gunshot outside of his house (where his producer was leaving). The police, led by Harrison Gartin, can find no clues but find out that the film's actress is also missing. Keith suspects he may be next as the police soon discover that the secrets to the case are hidden within Keith's film.

Behind the scenes

Shot on the very weekend of the Nicole Simpson murder (the night scenes were shot that fateful night), Scott is proud of this film. "The film has a fairly complex plot, and it takes some attention to follow along." The "Spoon River Anthology" clips seen in the film are from a play videotaped in Scott's high school drama class, in which Scott played two characters. "I had done that the previous year, so I decided to try making a movie around that, and it worked out pretty well."
