Blaster Parts Swap

Home
The IT 200 Page

Ah, Yamaha likes to make it hard on us. Here's a quote from YFS200 about the parts swap:

"The problem with direct fiche comparison is that each part has a differtent number for each model. Example: Thumb throttle. Blaster:2GU-26250-01-00 Warrior:3GG-26250-01-00 Banshee:1NV-26250-01-00 You would think they would all have the same part numbers. As far as I know, they are all the same part. The 26250 is Yamaha's number for thumb throttle assy. Any thumb throttle assy. The first three digits tell you what quad it goes on. See what I am saying? Even if it's the same part, it has a different number. This is good tracking for Yamaha, but makes comparing part numbers impossible."
As you know the Yamaha Blaster/Banshee share quite a few parts. Here is a list of the ones BELIVED to be inter changeable:

Connecting Rods

Carbs

Carb to Reed Manifold?

Reed Assembly?

Foot Pegs (can be swapped, results in 2" back 1" down placement on Banshee)

Rear Hubs (different bolt pattern)

Sprocket Hub

Handle Bars

Axle (different width)

Axle Carrier

Thumb Throttle Assembly

Taillight

Headlight Swithch/ Kill Switch

Gas Cap

Clutch Perch

Rear Brake Disk?

Kick Starter?

Badger/Blaster

This is a little odd but it turns out the Blaster got its front brakes from the Yamaha Badger 80. Yes, the mini quad. By the way, if you ride in the mud, buy the front fender extenders off a Badger. They fit the Blaster really well and keep a ton of mud off of you.

Warrior

The Blastr and Warrior share the same front shocks. However the Warrior uses stiffer, single rate springs as apposed to the Blaster's softer dual rate springs. The actual damper however is the same.

IT200/IT175

I have heard that the clutch, and the internal trany gears from the IT series bike would fit a Blaster. The IT 200 Also uses a boost bottle. It might be possible to adapt the bottle to a Blaster for more HP. Take a look at the IT 200 page (link above) for more info.

WR200

It is belived that the WR200's water cooled cylinder, head and water pump can be bolted on to the Blasters bottom end to make a super-trick water cooled Blaster. I've never actually seen this done, but it should work in theory. If you have a WR200, please e-mail me, I'd like to ask you a couple questions about it.

Tri-Z 250

The entire rear swingarm, axle, axle carrier, rear brake, and shock off a Tri-Z 3-wheeler will fit the Blaster with little modification. I've seen it's really trick.

If you can confirm or disprove any of the above parts swaps, or add to the list, please send me an e-mail. It would be appreciated. Oh yeah, don't blame me if you swap these parts and mess somthing up. Its not my fault.
