The Bellmaker

Information

In distant Southsward, Castle Floret is under the control of the Urgan Nagru, a murderous Fox of the North. Prince Truffen, Gael Squirrelking, and Queen Serena are under his baleful eye, along with Muta, Truffen's nursemaid. Muta was a mute Badger, but supremely strong. A rescue attempt is made, and Rab Streambattle the Otter, along with Muta, hold of the Foxes horde long enough for Serena and Truffen to escape. The Otter and the Badger are presumed dead. However, Gael is still trapped inside Floret. Salvation comes in the form of Mariel, Dandin, and their new friend, Meldrum the Magnificent. The garrulous Hare(Meldrum)has a taste for battle, strategy and the like, so theyfind themselves escaping Floret, having been captured by the Nagru's horde. On their way out, they find Gael in a cell, so he joins their merry band. After a daring midair escape from the castles tower, Mariel finds herself in the company of Egbert the Scholar, an incredibly intelligent Mole who speaks without a trace of an accent. He has two companions, who, although somewhat scarred, prove a valuble addition to the team. Yes, Rab and Muta were indeed alive. By now, Mariel's friend on the outside, a young Hog called Bowly Pintips, has recruited an army, strong enough to free Southsward forever. A bloody battle ensues, and help arrives in the forms of Mariel's father, Jospeh; The Honourable Rosemary Woodsorrel; Rufe Brushtail, Durry Quill, and the sea Otter, Finnbarr Galedeep. In the end, Finnbarr manages to finish of the Nagru, only at the cost of his own life. The jubilant heroes return to Mossflower, with only Joseph staying behind, to help the citizens of Southsward rebuild their shattered way of life.
