Single PC Pack
- cMail is a computer program which allows electronic mail in the form of SMS text messages to be sent from a PC to one or more GSM cellular telephones’ SMS screens simultaneously. One cMail pack sends to subscribers on Vodacom (072,082) and MTN (083) - * no longer supported **. NOT CELL-C or 083/073.
- No Special Hardware or Software is needed. The only requirement is a telephone line capable of dialling a cellular telephone number.
- cMail enables users to create lists of cellular phone holders (inside and outside of their company/organisation) and to organise them into logical mailing groups (e.g. Sales Reps or Customers). Groups can contain both Vodacom and MTN subscribers.
- Messages (160 characters) can be sent to any combination of groups or individuals, simultaneously at the touch of a key. cMail passes messages seamlessly to the cellular networks via a modem and a normal telephone line. The cellular networks then deliver the messages via GSM SMS to the cellular telephones.
- There is no limit to the number of messages which may be sent or the number of receiving telephones.
- cMail dials in to the networks public SMS gateways to deliver SMS. We accept no liability and we are not responsible for the speed or reliability of these gateways as they are owned by the respective networks.
- Reach as many people as you need with one press of a button. cMail dials and sends automatically. There is no per message charge or monthly rental. Calls are charged at applicable Telkom rate.
- The message is delivered directly to the telephone’s SMS screen and can be viewed instantly. Recipients do not need to call voice mail to receive their messages. This reduces the recipient’s interruptions, effort and cost.
- Messages are not lost when the telephone is out of range or out of service or busy. The message will be delivered as soon as the telephone re-establishes contact with the network. Messages can be delivered even while the phone is in use.
- cMail keeps a log of message text, who the sender was, who the recipients were and when the message was sent. This log is also printable.
- cMail can send messages to phones anywhere in the world where the respective cellular network has a roaming agreement.
- You don’t need to own a cell phone to send cMail messages. cMail runs on a standard PC which is running Microsoft Windows, Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95 or Windows NT. cMail needs a standard modem capable of transmitting at 2400 bps or greater. cMail messages can be received by any cellular telephone with an SMS screen (most telephones have this feature). No upgrades or special features are required.
