TO DEFEND MY SPECIES
TIGER ZERO: ZOIDS

Chapter 1: The Mysterious Zoid
The Blitz Team was the new Class S champion with Bit Cloud and Liger Zero at the helm. The Backdraft group was gone and the competition was fierce as ever. Almost all the Zoids teams were fighting for the next opportunity to challenge the Liger Zero. However, some teams had no hope of fighting the newly ranking team, and no desire. Afew such teams were the Champ Team, the Viper Team, and... the Tigers Team.... This is the story of the name's liberation.

Across the baren plane, one lone, yellow Zoid skirted past the rocky remains of an old battle field. This was the lead Zoid of the Tigers Team, out for a run with little else to do. The team had been going under ever since their unfair disqualification from the championships. That darn Judge, pronouncing their name wrong, had frozen their systems by mistake and eliminated them from their battle against the Blitz Team. They knew that was why they had not one, right? The zoid stopped after running nearly fifteen miles from camp. The pilot, a short brother of three, sighed and looked up at the sky. It was impossible, their team couldn't go under, we wouldn't allow it. He just... wouldn't? The brother saw clouds forming on the horizon and for an instant thought it was Lyon again. That could not be true, though, because that ship had been destroyed in the championships. His monitor beeped, picking up an enemy zoids three miles off. Brother: "What's... this?" his system scanned for a zoid type but it never registered. Whatever this zoid was, it was moving in fast and heading striaght for him. "I'm gettin' outta' here!" he turned his Sabre Tiger around just as a message shot to his monitor. IMPOSTER! It read and just then the enemy zoid attacked, striking from behind and knocking the yellow zoid down. The brother turned his zoid just in time to see a large shape bolt behind some rubble. When his zoid stood again, he kept it still, staring intently at the rocks. After afew minutes he approached, slowly, and peered to the edge of the stones. "Huh? What?" He moved closer still and was soon standing on the rocks with no other zoid in site. "What's... going on? Where'd it... go?" Brother2: "Yo, bro!" came a voice over the intercom system, "What's going on, man?" "Er... nothing... I'm coming back to base." His zoid pivoted on its four paws and ran away from the battle site as quickly as its thrusters would go. A wind wipped across the area, blasting up dust and dirt. Imposter..... It whispered, a dark shadow enclosing the field as the sun was blotted out by clouds.

Brother3: "A new... zoid?" he asked, blinking. Bro1: "It musta' been 'cause the system never found a match. But it was totally fast and took out my Sabre's back gun turrent." Bro2: "I'll say!" he called from the back side of his brother's zoid. "It's completely shot! And with one attack?! What happened?!" "I told you! I was out there, mindin' my own business, and, BAM, this thing attacked me!" Suddenly the sensors in all three Sabre Tigers began to beep, indicating the approach of another zoid from the East. "Tigers Team, get ready for battle!" the lead brother commanded. Bro3: "Wha-what?!" "I said now!" other2: "Right!" The three zoids sprung to action, all lining up side by side to face the oncoming challenge. It was quiet and the dust was sailing over the dirt ground like an evil mist. The team couldn't see anything but their systems knew it was their. The three zoids roared and, surprisingly, another answered back. It was much louder, hoeever, and made the other three pilot cringe. "This is the Tigers Team calling the enemy zoid to our East. Identify your self or we will open fire." No responce. All three Sabre Tigers began firing laser blasts into the darkness. Nothing was impacted and nothing fired back. "Hold your fire!" he ordered. Again silence overtook the grounds, the only thing audible, the sound of the brothers scared breathing. There was a flash ahead of them and with a great crash they were all thrown on their sides, a gust of wind blowing past them. Bro2: "Is that it?!" "I don't know!" he said, annoyed at the question. They tried getting up but another swipe from the unseen enemy laid them flat again. "Stop! We give!" the second brother said. "That's not your call to make!" "Get a clue!" Bro3: "What is going on?!" The looked back to where their attacker had first come from and saw a black claw sticking out from the darkness and into their camps wide spread fire light. Bro1: "Who are you?" he asked, straining to see from his fallen zoid's position. IMPOSTER. I AM EVERYTHING YOU ARE NOT AND MORE. YOU DO NOT DESERVE YOU NAME! The message flashed, coming across all their monitors. The claw began to move as one more message came, I AM TIGER ZERO, PILOT'S NAME AND ZOID'S. MY ZOID, THE ZOID, IS INVINCIBLE. I AM A TIGER. The speaking zoid emerged from the darkness and glinted in the light of the fire. It was larger than the Sabre Tigers and was also a different color. It was bright orange with dark black stripes running from head to armered tail. The eyes were as brightly yellow as the orange was and flammed with power and anger. "T-Tiger Zero? Who are you?!" he asked, demanding the pilot's name. I AM NAMED TIGER ZERO, AS ARE WE BOTH! The zoid roared, shaking the ground as it cracked under the Tiger Zero's claws. No words had been spoken yet from this mysteriously powerful zoid and only the ominous messages that came scrolling across the screens. Bro2: "What-what do you want with us?!" The screen flashed again, TO REINSTATE OUR NAME. YOU HAVE MADE A MOCKERY OF US! YOUR TEAM WILL BE FEARED BY NAME AND SITE OR I WILL WIPE IT FROM THE ZOID BATTLE FEILD ALL TOGETHER! The Tiger Zero growled and turned away, walking back into the shadows. "Hey! Wait!" the first brother called again. I WILL BE WAITING AT 0700 HOURS ON THE BATTLE FEILD BLUFF. BE THERE OR SUFFER FOR THE COWARDICE. I AM TIGER ZERO, INVINCIBLE ZOID OF THE BATTLE FEILD, INVINCIBLE TIGERS OF THE PLANET. The Tiger Zero disappeared from radar, leaving the Sabres staring into black space.
