We feel that this Bewick line descends from the Thomas Bewick (1753-1828) known for his wood carvings (see the above carving known as 'Miss Jane Bewick's Carriage').
The earlier Thomas Bewick also had a daughter Jane. If anyone can shed some light on this, please contact us.
