RFS - CAUSES OF CONE ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS



I. BACKPLATE INSTALLATION/SET-UP 
   -MUST BE PARALLEL AT HANDLER  
II. FUNCTIONALITY OF THE DAMPENER
III. WRONG ADJUSTMENT OF THE DAMPENER OR DAMPENER ACTING AS A FALSE HARD STOP
     -MECHANICAL HARDSTOP WITH SET SCREW SHOULD BE THE ONE AS HARDSTOP
     -HOW TO CHECK FUNCTIONALITY OF DAMPENER-PUSH THEN WHEN RELEASED SHOULD RETURN TO THE ORIGINAL
       STROKE LENGTH.(PART NUMBER: MC-225) DAMPENER REDUCE SPEED BEFORE IMPACT.
IV. FOLLOWING LINKS ARE LOOSE
      a. COUPLING SCREWS(NO LOOSE)
      b. CONE ROTATOR FLAGS' LOCK SCREWS(FOR SENSOR)
      c. DUAL AXIS BLOCKS' LOCK SCREW
V. CONE ALIGNMENT BASED ON THE POSITION SCREWS IS WRONG. CORRECT THIS BY FOLLOWING THE CONE
    ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE. 


CONE INDEXER HOME OFFSET PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: CONE ALIGNMENT MUST BE PERFECT BEFORE DOING THE PROCEDURE BELOW.

A. COUPLING METHOD
   -THIS PROCEDURE IS DONE WHILE THE HANDLER IS IN NORMAL MODE.

  1. LOOSEN COUPLING SCREW HOLDING THE CONE INDEXER TO THE MOTOR.
  2. ROTATE THE CONE INDEXER COUNTERCLOCKWISE. THIS WILL CAUSE THE BOAT TO MOVE TO THE RIGHT.
  3. ROTATE CONE INDEXER CLOCKWISE. ONCE THE BOAT GUIDE PIN HOLE AND THE CHUCK GUIDE PIN ARE 
      ALIGNED STOP AND TIGHTEN THE SCREWS.

B. ENCODER METHOD
   -THIS PROCEDURE IS DONE AT MANUAL MODE.

  1. HOME THE CONE INDEXER
  2. JOG CONE INDEXER TO A POINT 0.250 " FROM THE HOME POSITION
  3. BOAT GUIDE PIN HOLE AND THE CHUCK GUIDE PIN ALIGNED(IF YES EXIT MANUAL IF NO THEN)
  4. IS THE MANUAL HOME OFFSET "0"(YES-IN THE MANUAL MENU ENTER A "0" FOR THE HOME POSITION IF NO)
  5. GO INTO LEARN MODE.
  6. ROTATE CONE INDEXER CCW THEN CW. STOP WHEN THE GUIDE PIN AND THE BOAT HOLE AREA ALIGNED.
  7. SUBTRACT 0.250 FROM THE ENCODER READING, THE DIFFERENCE WILL BE ENTERED VIA THE MANUAL MENU
      AS THE HOME OFFSET POSITION.
