CLIENTS

DirectQ2 -See the next two items in this box.

QindieGL -You will need this to make the DirectQII client work with ATI video cards. Just put the opengl32.dll in your Quake 2 folder. You don't need the other files in the zip as far as I know, but I included them because that's how it came.

directx_jun2010_redist -You will also very likely need the DirectX redistributable for Directx9 to work. I installed it myself without issues.

PAKS

Pakscape -For editing PAK files.

Mypfh-mgrs.zip -Based off of a pak I downloaded from the Tastyspleen site. I left the conback as it was so I'm guessing PFH was a clan as those letters figure prominently in the background. I can take credit for the machine gun, blaster and part of the hyperblaster sounds. The rest is pilfered from various author's works. This pak will work with any client, however, some player skins will appear differently between clients; the CLAU skins will only work with TGA supporting clients, but the PCX versions are coloured up as well. Lots of different textures, sounds, cool blue sky, and red rockets with blue nades. I like this pak, hopefully others will like it too. I backed up a different blaster and hyper blaster sound in the /sound/weapons folder and the explosions from rockets and nades will only be sparks - à la Quake I! Just delete the r_explode folder under /models/objects if you don't like sparks!

current.pak -Not actually my current pak any longer, but still a great pack.

bright.pak -A brighter colormap.pcx only.

otherpak.pak -R1gl or regular GL, but will look a little different between renderers.

LastPak.zip -This is a fairly large pak with many new sounds, objects, textures, env, JPG weapons, JPG ammo models, and lots of players with different sounds for male/female/cyborg. This pak also contains the complete working Guard model, and the Enforcer model as well; plus a few more. The JPG weapons do not look hi-res at all, but they are more intense and vibrant looking, and there are JPG monster skins in this pak as well; every enemy in the base game. You will need a JPG capable client such as Yamagi, Q2pro, or R1Q2. Any standard client will work but the ammo will look ganked, although you could just delete the ammo.

I used the JPG models and monsters available on the Yamagi web site. Check out the textures available on that page - they are really top notch! I don't believe that there are any errors or mucked up textures in the whole bunch.

LINUX BOTS -None of these will work with any modern linux distro or Q2 client , but they will stay here for historical purposes.

LINUX REANIMATOR'S 3ZB2
This is just gamei386.so file so you can use goldsoft configs and this .so file in a folder like "3zb2re" within your linux quake2 folder. Worked for me :)
