The P-Brains

The P-Brains (Will-guitar, Matt-bass, and Jon-drums) formed in December of 1999. Wanting to do nothing more than just have fun Matt, Will, and Jon decided to break from their old band's style of street punk. They focused on their main influences: from the Ramones to Social Distortion to Face to Face. After a show they decided to pick up another guitar player. In came Rusty who became lead guitar player and 4th lead singer, YES they all sang. After many practices and some shows they felt that they really needed a lead singer who can actually sing well. In came Raph, Will's brother who attended the practices regularly. In July of 2000, the P-Brains recorded their first album. A self-titled E.P. that was self-released in October at The First Annual Pop-Punk Festival(in which they covered "Judy Is A Punk" by the Ramones - oh yeah!) and later re-released in summer of 2001. Rusty had left/kicked out of the band in August, so they decided to kick it as a four peice for a while. 3 months later, the P-Brains went in to record their sophomore E.P. entitled "Another One Bites The Dust" to honor the leaving of original drummer Jon. Before leaving Jon recorded the 4 tracks on the record which was released in January of 2001 on Second Chance Records(then called Catatonic Records). Months went by and Jon got sick of playing so he left the band on February 17th. In search of a new drummer, Matt had met Evan Kanter who would replace Jon on the skins. The P-Brains were a 4 peice once again and started writing some new songs. They picked up Evan's friend Derek Short to play second guitar. Shortly after, the P-Brains went on tour in August. Will had grown tired of not writing any new songs and felt that the band wasn't going anywhere (well, with a name like the P-Brains who could blame em? j/k). So he decided to quit after tour. Raph also quit. Their last show would be Second Chance Fest on September 14th which was altogether a great show. The P-Brains went their seperate ways and as far as I know there are no plans for a reunion. Or are there?
