Yet another one of the bands critics are saying will 'save rock'. The Trail of Dead are refreshing when you look at some artists, who's genre is listed as something like "pseudo-alternative garage neo-death metal punk". The Trail of Dead are Rock 'n' Roll in simplest and purest form. However, their music is anything but simple. They bear an eery (perhaps intended) resemblance to The Beatles with their identically dyed black hair. And with Source Tags and Codes, they have conceived one of the greatest rock albums of the past few years. Its rich and immense soundscapes beg to be explored, and the lyrics posesses interesting images and thought-provoking observations ("I don't know who or what in this world is trying to save me, but I can see Its hand and It's guiding me in sign"). All of the tracks are great, and blend together perfectly, but hightlights include It Was There(That I Saw You), Another Morning Stoner, Relative Ways/After The Laughter, and Source Tags and Codes. I will end with a quote from Another Morning Stoner: "Why is a song the world for me?"
