Night Run

Fear in my eyes and mouth,
loneliness echoed in my pulse,
crescent moon mocking me.
Can't remember where I came from;
uncertain where I'm going,
but I've never felt so alive,
Not even in your arms.
with the slap of dewey grass on warm ankles,
and hair wild behind me with my wind,
secrets keep falling from my pockets
and imagination spreading before me.
Been gone so long; almost like floating,
looking for order in the stars.
Trying not to inhale too deeply,
trying to lose your face,
maybe even forget your name.
Living without you
is like running in the night.
