"Father"

--- In memory of Leon Fonferko (April 29, 1943 - September 5, 2001), William Kaniewski, and Mr. Bruno. ---

Verse I:

Not too long ago, while my father was alive, we played catch in the yard.

The memory, of him throwing a pass, makes me teary eyed.

I would give anything, to be with him, one last time.

I never really, got to say goodbye, or catch that pass again.

Chorus:

Why did you have to go while im young?

Why did you have to leave me alone?

Why did you have to keep me going?

Why are you leading me on forever?

Verse II:

Back in the day, When the lake was frozen, You taught me to tie my first skate.

Because of you, and the games in the driveway, I owe thanks to be, able to play hockey.

I wouldn?t be, the person I am, without a father like you.

So please understand, that wherever you are, I?m here and will always love you.

Chorus:

Why did you have to go while im young?

Why did you have to leave me alone?

Why did you have to keep me going?

Why are you leading me on forever?
