Giovanna Di Rocco (soprano)
She makes her dèbut as Doretta in
“La Rondine” of Puccini after having won a national
singing contest at Spoleto. It is the beginning of a grand
career which leads her to all the most famous Italian stages
like the “La Fenice” Venice Theatre, the “San
Carlo” of Naples, the Rome Opera Theatre, the “Maggio
Musicale Fiorentino”, the “Arena di Verona”,
the “Piccola Scala” but also abroad in France,
Belgium, Germany, Japan, England and Spain.
She has worked with great conductors like Serafin, Gavazzeni,
Solti, Prêtre, Votto, Previtali, Bartoletti, Von Matacic,
De Fabriitis, Sanzogno and Maag.
Her repertory included Lauretta in “Gianni Schicchi”,
Musetta in Puccini’s “La Bohème”,
Zerlina in “Don Giovanni”, Clorinda in “Cenerentola”
but also rare opera roles like Franchetta in “I tre
amanti ridicoli” of Baldassare Galuppi.
From 1986, she has dedicated herself to teaching.
