Chapter Six

*At A.J. & Kevins House*

Work had gotten around quickly about Anna. Everyone except Brian and Rachel were there, but Brian had sent his regrets and explained the situation with Rachel to all of the others, who had all agreed that this was definately not like Rachel.

There was an aquard scilene falling over the den, sobs the only sounds being made.

"What happened, Nick?" Sara asked the question on everyones minds as her bloodshot eyes looked up into his for the answers. Nick took a deep breath as he started to explain what he found that afternoon

"Well, I came to get her from here this morning and we didn't talk too much on the way home. She was mad at me. I kept telling her that I loved her and she would just nod her head and look out the window." Nick looked at the floor as more tears rolled down his cheeks. "When we got home we walked into the living room, and I sat down on the couch so we could talk, she said that she wanted to go and take a shower and we could talk when she was done. So she went into the bathroom and I liad down to take a nap and when I woke up a couple of hours later she was still in the bathroom. I went and knocked on the door. The door was unlocked but I didn't get an answer an answer so I went inside and I found her lying on the floor... she wa ...she was dead." He finished sobbing even harder.

*At Brian's House* "Mr. Littrell, This is officer Corrales. I have some questions that Iwould like for you to come down to the station and answer for me." He paused waiting to hear a response from Brian.

"Um...Okay. I'll be right there." He answered wondering if this had anything to do with Rachel. They said thier goodbyes and Brian went and got Ashton from her room, grabbed his cell phone and buckled Ashton into the car febore backing out of the driveway.

*At the Police department*

"Yes. I was told to come down here by Officer Corrales. He said he had some questions for me." The receptionist told him to wait there as she paged officer Corrales. She hung up the phone and showed Brian back to Officer Corrales' office.

"Hello, Mr. Littrell." the officer stood to shake Brian's hand. Motioning to a chair for Brian, officer Corrales sat back down behind the desk.

"I'm going to gt stright to the point, Mr. Littrell. Someone called us this morning and reported some unusual activity on the North end or Ridgeway Drive." He paused eyeing Brian, who was showing very little interest, obviously still worried about Rachel.

Detective Corrales started again. "It seems like a one car accident had taked place there last night. The car slipped off of the highway and over the guardrail ending over the cliff."

"Oh my goodness, thats terrible. Brian stated, sounding concerned.

Officer Corrales let his eyes fall to the floor strongly disliking his job at the moment. He took a deep breath and looked in Brian's direction again. "Mr. Littrell, we could not identify the body of the young lady in the car but we did run the tags and they came back registered to you."

Brian suddenly felt weak. "Rachel. Oh my God! Is Rachel okay?!"

"Mr. Littrell, I need for you to calm down. Please, take a deep breath." he pleaded with Brian.

"It can't be Rachel. Please tell me that it isn't Rachel. I need her! Ashton needs her, please, God no! Detective Corrales walked to Brian's side and put a hand on his shoulder, seriously wanting to change professions at the moment.

"We need for you to come and identify the body."
