Local open mic legends John Calaveras and Chris Medina teamed up with Bass player and guitarist, Vikky Johnson for an ecclectic blend of original accoustic rock that flows through the same vein as Jack Johnson, Bob Schneider, Nick Drake and John Mayer. They have extensive musical influences that prevent them from being pigeon-holed into one particular genre. Labels are not what Las Calaveras are about. They're looking to knock down musical barriers. Their playlists employ a variety of different sounds including (but not limited to) blues, funk, alernative, folk, hip-hop, and straight up rock-n-roll. Done in an acoustic format, the songs are original enough to keep you interested while still being familiar enough to make you want to sing along.
