Synopsis
Company is about five affluent couples living in a Manhattan apartment complex and the overly protective feelings they have about their baherlor friend named Bobby (Dean Jones), who they are anxious to rush down the wedding aisle. The show opens at Bobby's 35th birthday party hosted by his friends, which serves to connect the seperate episodes with the five couples. Throughout the show we see the couples, fight, argue, plan for divorce, smoke pot, drink too much, and love eachother. Bobby's happenings with his married friends leads him to the conclusion that being alone, is not really being alive, which sums up the show in his "Being Alive" solo. Company serves as a ground breaking show because of its devience from the usual linear plots of musical theater. Company put emphasis on how the story was being told, instead of just the events of story.
