Steven E. Hollems D.O.B: 7-28-45 D.O.D: 8-8-13
Steve was born in Pasadena, Calif to a loving family. His father,
Ray K. Hollems and Georgianna Hollems. He was the youngest of
two children. His sister is Marilyn Thompson of Bakersfield, Calif. Steve grew up in a wonderful childhood filled with years on a
Little League Baseball team, since he was around 8 years old, and
played until he was 16 years old. He also loved to go bowling with
his friends and Dad. He had many friends as a boy, and they would
spend time at Steve's house playing games and just hanging out. Steve spent many times helping out his Grandmother Newton ,
who lived alone in Pasadena, by doing her yardwork and helping
with her errands. He loved his Grandma dearly. She spoiled her
grandson so much. Steve was very special to her. Steve had many hobbies such as stamp collecting, and coin
collecting. He loved to collect the State Quarters, and then he
would collect special gold plated coins. He was obsessed with
his collections. Steve was married at a young age (20 years) and he married
his long time girlfriend (Irene) AKA (Dee Dee). They were together
for 29 years and had 3 children. They all grew up in Monrovia,
Calif. Steve was a hard worker. He worked in Produce for many
different grocery chains, but retired from Von's in 2004. He spent
36 years in the grocery business. He was a Produce Manager for
many years, and then decided to go back to being a asst. manager,
due to the stress of being in charge. He wanted to just go to work,
and not have to worry about the responsibility. Steve enjoyed his yearly vacation time with his family. He
enjoyed camping with his wife and children. His favorite camp-
grounds used to be Flagstaff, Arizona, and going to Sedona, Az.
and going to a KOA campground in Butte, Montana which was his favorite. Steve will be missed by his family and friends. Steve is
survived by his 3 children, Cindy Hollems-Campos, Timothy Hollems, and
Thomas Hollems. Also by his sister, Marilyn Thompson, niece
Shelley Chandler, nephew Spencer Thompson, and many cousins
and his ex-wife Dee Dee. Steve was preceeded in death by his Mother, Father, his
Grandparents, Uncles and Aunt. He will surely be missed by
his family . He was a amazing man, and a great father to his three wonderful kids.
