The 2002-2003 Region I district II basketball championships was held last weekend in Aniak. The Huskies played their first game of the tournament on Friday morning against the McGrath Knights. They took that game with a score of 65 to 43. Their next game was against the Kalskag Grizzlies. The Huskies lost that game by 8 points. Because of their loss, they played the Tuluksak Wolverines and beat them. They were now in for third place. They had to once again beat the McGrath Knights in order to take third. The Huskies suffered a disappointing loss and ended up placing fourth in the region tournament. The overall record for the MPMHS Huskies is 9-9.
