Moonlight Ride Jenny was so happy about the house they had found.
How wonderful it was to have her own room.
On the first day of school, everything went great.
To be known in this school you had to have a clout,
"Well, I just won't tell them the entire truth.
Excited, she got ready for the big event
Well the pizza was good, and the party was great,
Then the room filled with smoke and Jeff took a puff.
They jumped in the car for the moonlight ride,
A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all
With all of her might, she pushed Jeff away:
As Jeff drove on in a fit of wild anger,
"Just let me get home! I'll confess that I lied.
She doesn't remember the force of impact.
Voices she heard...a few words at best.
She awoke in the hospital to faces so sad.
They said "Jenny, we've done all we can do.
Jenny prayed, "God, forgive me for what I've done
"Tell Mom and Dad I'm sorry I lied,
But took Jenny's hand with tears in her eyes
She looked at the man with eyes oh so sad.

What God can do with 57 cents
A sobbing little girl stood near a
small church from which she had been turned away because it "was too
crowded".
The child was so touched that she went to bed that night thinking of the children who have no place to worship Jesus. Two years later, this child lay dead in one of the poor tenement buildings and the parents called for the kind-hearted pastor, who had befriended their daughter, to handle the final arrangements. As her poor little body was being moved, a worn and crumpled purse was found which seemed to have been rummaged from some trash dump. Inside was found 57 cents and a note scribbled in childish handwriting which read, "This is to help build the little church bigger so more children can go to Sunday school." For two years she had saved for this offering of love. When the pastor tearfully read that note, he knew instantly what he would do. Carrying this note and the cracked, red pocketbook to the pulpit, he told the story of her unselfish love and devotion. He challenged his deacons to get busy and raise enough money for the larger building.
But the story does not
end
there! A newspaper learned of the story and published it. It was read by a Realtor who offered them a parcel of land worth many thousands of dollars.
When told that the church could not pay so much, he offered it for 57 cents. Church members made large donations. Checks came from far and wide.
Within five years, the little girl's gift had increased to $250,000.00 - a huge sum for that time (near the turn of the century). Her unselfish love had paid large dividends.
When you are in the city of Philadelphia, look up Temple Baptist Church, with a seating capacity of 3,300 and Temple University, where hundreds of students are trained. Have a look, too, at the Good Samaritan Hospital and at a Sunday School building which houses hundreds of Sunday Schoolers, so that no child in the area will ever need to be left outside during Sunday school time.
In one of the rooms of this building may be seen the picture of the sweet face of the little girl whose 57 cents, so sacrificially saved, made such remarkable history.
Alongside it is a portrait of her kind pastor, Dr. Russel H. Conwell, author of the book, "Acres of Diamonds".
A true story, which goes to show WHAT GOD CAN DO WITH 57 CENTS.
Quote Packaging A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For
many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and
knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As
Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had
purchased the car.
Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautifully wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible? And with that he stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day.
Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things. When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago.
With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11,"And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?"
As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words - "PAID IN FULL."
How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expected?
Death of an Innocent
I went to a party, Mom, I remembered what you said.
I really felt proud inside, Mom, the way you said I would.
As I got into my car, Mom, I knew I'd get home in one piece.
As I lay there on the pavement, Mom, I hear the policeman say,
There is blood all around me, Mom, and most of it is mine.
I'm feeling sharp pains now. Pains just like a knife.
Tell my brother not to cry, Mom. Tell Daddy to be brave.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom. I'm becoming very scared.
I have one last question, Mom, before I say good bye.
