Peter Jackson was born in New Zealand on Halloween 1961 and was raised in Pukerua Bay, a little town west of Wellington. He was the only child of Bill and Joan Jackson. Peter Jackson's career in films has spanned over decades now. Watching these movies shows the progress he made not only in his writing but his directing talents as well. After many years he is finally gaining the respect as a film maker that he so rightly deserves. It's a pity that it took most of the world so long to recognize his talents. His success really took off after the release of Heavenly Creatures (1994). It was with the commercial success of this powerful movie that others aside from somewhat "B" movie buffs finally got a glimpse of his talent. Peter Jackson is hugely talented, and judging from his current success, will continue to go from strength to strength. His zany sense of humour, demonstrated in Bad Taste, Braindead, Meet The Feebles, and The Frighteners, sets him aside from "conventional" film directors.
