1148 is a 1978 model Chevy the utility box and pump was added by the firefighters.It has a 350 gal. pto pump 250 gallon tank. It pulled triple duty up until 1996 as a brush truck and a squad, and a crash truck but now is used as a brush truck and a crash truck.It carries airbags, air tools, 2 1/2 ton porta-power, power saws, 2 stokes baskets 2 back boards, and a full compliment of hand tools. Plus a compliment of rope rescue equipment and a total of 1100 ft of static kernmantle rope. |
1248 is a 80's model Chevy brush truck... It carries 750 Gals. of water 75 gpm forestry pump, 10 gallons class A foam with Foam nozzles, and a full compliment of stihl chainsaws and is our mainline brush truck |
1548 is a Kawasaki Mule that
has become an invaluble piece of apparatus. Its
multi-purpose capabilty lends itself to several aspects
of firefighting and rescue within the county. It has a 55
gal tank, 2 Shindawa forestry pumps,and 5 gals of Class A
foam. We haved used it several times in removing victims
from Bald Mountain which is famous for climbers and rope
junkies in the area.1548 is also equiped with a red
light, siren 50 watt radio , heavy duty push bar and 4000lb winch and is equipped to be able to haul a stokes basket or strecher for rescue. |
1648 is also a Kawasaki mule it was purchased after 1548 was involved in an accident. 1648 was used as an replacement until 1548 could be refurbushed. After 15 was finished 1648 was and has been utilized for rescue on several incidents and at this time has no pump or tank.15 and 16 are utilized every year at several events held at the Denton Farm Park where the squad stands by for first aid assistance during the Southeast Old Threshers Reunion every July 4.These vehicles aid in getting to remote locations of the park where driving a full sized vehicle would be impossible and walking would be to cumbersome with a lot of equipment. |
Our newest addition,481 is 2000 Ford F-550 with a 12.5 foot rescue box. It features a full compliment of Hurst Equipment, 10 air bags and an asssortment of power, air and hand tools. Power comes from a 10 kw Westerbeke generator with the xrt simo pump for the Hurst power unit 2 100' hurst reels and a portable simo unit for extrications over 100 feet.Lighting comes from a 6000 watt Wil-Burt light tower, 2 500 watt tripod lights on the back and numerous scene lights. Also the entire compliment of rope rescue equipment. 481 was purchased thru Chiefs Fire & Rescue out of Jefferson NC. |
