Special Event:
   To say a special goodbye to Sun Goddess and Journey Through Fire PRIDE
we decided to have a match race between the two horses. Sun Goddess is a
Anglo- Arab and is retiring at the age of 7. She is a great horse and
loves to race. Journey Through Fire is a TB at the age of 6. A few years
ago when we were in MANE we had match races between the horses. Sun beat
Journey but Journey had to run two races to make finals Sun Goddess only
had one match race. We always talked about a match race so here it is!
   Both horses are loading calmly in the gate and are waiting quietly.
The gates fly open! Journey is off to a quick clean start. Sun has a
little bit of trouble and her jockey Heather is checking her. Laura and
Journey both know that Sun likes to be in the lead from the start and are
pushing the pace a little. Sun is all there now and both horses are
pounding down the track. Sun is slowly beginning to draw up on Journey.
No wait! Journey found another gear. Does Sun have it??  Here Sun comes
again trying to take the lead again. These horses are nose and nose at
the finish line. It's going to be a photo finish!!! And it is Journey by
a nose. Both riders are very proud of their horses. There will be
pictures taken of the winner and both horses together!
   As both horses are quietly lead back to where they will be unsaddled
from their racing equipment both riders are crying. Journey and Sun both
have so much heart and loved to race. I know they will be missed. As they
were just leaving a great roar of approval for both horses came from the
crowd.

LN: Draco may also be retired sometime soon.  He was racing by age 2
since I didn't know better back then, and I don't want to race him too
long since he has already had a lot of stress so quick.  So, this may be
one of the last races you will see this guy in :) But, if anyone has a
*proven* arabian racer broodmare they would be willing to lease out for
me to breed him to, please e-mail me (hih@erols.com).
