THIS plan represents fifty acres of land late the property of John FARROW deceased lying in Hyde County on Mount Pleasant being part of the land which remained to be divided amongst the heirs of the said deceased and is included in an old patent of three hundred acres joining on the southward end of said patent of land whereon he lived, beginning at the So. Wt. Corner of the land which said John FARROW deceased let by will to his daughters, Sarah FARROW lying in the patent first above named, running with the patent line So. 25 deg. West 48 poles to the corner of the first named patent, then with the patent line So. 85 deg. East 185 poles to the So. Et. corner of the patent, then with the patent line No. 27 deg. East 49 poles to the So. Et corner of Sarah FARROWS fifty acres of land left her by her fathers will as aforesaid, then with said Sarah FARROWS line No. 85 deg. West 186 poles to the beginning Pursuant to order of Hyde County Court November Term 1800.
We the commissioners appointed have determined on the division of the above represented and described fifty acres of land as aforesaid by the plot and the numbers and names of the heirs annexed thereto each lot contains ten acres and is nine poles and ten feet wide nearly on the first course of the plot, viz the So. 25 deg. West course the division line of the patent 5 of February 1801.

This Indenture made this twenty third day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & seventeen Between William BROOKS of the State of North Carolina and County of Hyde of one part, and Samuel BROOKS, son of said William BROOKS of said State and County, of the other part Witnesseth that the said William BROOKS for divers good causes and Considerations him thereunto moveing but more especially for the Natural love & affection which he hath and beareth to his said son, hath given, granted & confirmed, and by these presents doth give, grant and Confirm to the Said Samuel BROOKS his heirs or assigns forever, a certain piece or parcel of land lying in Hyde County on the Settlement of Mount Pleasant, Beginning at the head of Lightwood Creek at a pine, a corner of Stephen BROOKS Patent Runing down said Creek with the windings to the mouth of Indian Landing Creek, then up the Indian Landing Creek with its windings to the mouth of the old ditch, then a Southerly Course to Crooked Creek to a point known by the name of ware point, then up Crooked Creek with the windings thereof to Benjamin MIDGETTs Line then with his Line to the Northermost Corner, then up with his other Line to the main Road, then with the Road to James PUGHs line then with his Line to the back line of Stephen BROOKS's Patent Line then with the back line of Said Patent to David PAIN's line, then with his Line to his Lower Corner, then with his Lower line to the Northermost Corner, then up his Northermost line to the back line of Stephen BROOKS's Patent then with his Said Patent Line to the Begining, Containing two hundred & Sixty two acres be the same more or Less - To have, hold, occupy, use and enjoy the above granted & described premises, with all and Singular the Improvements, priviledges and profits to the same belonging or appertaining unto the Said Samuel BROOKS his heirs or assigns forever, free and Clear from the claim or Claims of the said William BROOKS his heirs or assigns or any other persons claiming the same by, from or under him the Said William BROOKS his heirs or assigns forever—In Witness whereof the said William BROOKS hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and year above written Signed Sealed & Delivered in presence of us
