It all started on the night of December 30th. Four best friends set out for what they new would be the best night of their lives. Little did they know it would be so much more.
Early an the morning of December 30th, Leslie, Amy, Carrie, and Tamika set out from Atlanta Georgia to begin their trip to Florida. That night they were going to see their future husbands, live. Leslie looked foward to her Nick serenading her with a heart gripping rendition of Heaven In Your Eyes. Amy longed to hear her Brian singing about what she said, and maybe tease her with his well toned stomach. Carrie couldn't wait for the moment when her Howie would walk out on stage with a dozen white roses. She imagined that they were all for her, after the show. Tamika could already see her Kevin. his arms rippled with muscles as he performed a song on a grand piano. He then introduces the last solo, AJ. They all imagine AJ, yes AJ. The magical climax of the show when we Lay Down Beside Him. They know from previous experience that he will do amazing things on the floor with his body. Needless to say, we were very eager for the day to hurry up and give way to night. Magical things happen at night. Good things.
They drove for six hours straight, non stop. They didn't want to waste a minute. They arrived in Florida at around 4:30 in the afternoon. They got their things unpacked in the hotel, and set out to go shopping. Well, as the story goes, they didn't exactly end up shopping. This is what happened. Leslie had found Nick's address on the internet about a month and a half prior to the trip. Carrie had found Howie's a little earlier. Leslie said that they should go to one of their houses since they had shopped already the day before in Atlanta. Everyone agreed, but they would only have time to go to one house. They decided to flip a coin. Of course, Leslie lost. They were heading to Howie's. They had directions off the internet, so they didn't have too much trouble finding his place. As they drove up, they were greeted by a huge iron gate. To their surprise, the gate was open! They carefully drove inside and down what seemed like an endless driveway. They were so excited. They were actually at a Backstreet Boy's house! They parked in front of the most gorgeous house that they had ever seen. They got out and nervously walked up to the front door. They didn't actually expect to get in. They figured a butler would answer the door and tell them to get lost, but they were hopeful.
They rang a loud doorbell and stood back to wait. "BUENOS DIAS CHICAS!! BIENVENIDOS!!!!" Paula Dorough shouted as she pulled them in to the house. They smacked Carrie to help her regain consciousnes and walked into the enormous house. After Amy translated what Paula said for Tamika, they were taken into a large room. The living room. Howie's mom went to a bookshelf and pulled out two books. They were photo albums. She proceeded to show everyone the complete photo collection of Howard Dorough, age birth to 25. On the naked ones when he was a baby, they couldn't help but mutter CENSORED under their breathes. Carrie was still in shock. D-O Y-O-U S-P-E-A-K E-N-G-L-I-S-H? asked Tamika. She had apparemtly been watching the concert video from Germany a little too much. They explained to her that Howie's family spoke English. They asked her if Howie was home. She said no and that Nick had just picked him up for rehearsal before the show that night. Leslie fainted. She had just missed him. When she woke up, evryone was saying goodbye and going back to the car. "How long was I out?" asked Leslie. "Uno hora, I mean one hour," said Amy. Leslie noticed that they all had something in their hands. When they showed her what they had, she screamed, then fainted again.
It turns out that Mrs. Dorough had generously given them four backstage passes. WOW!! thought Leslie. She wouldn't need those tranquilizers that she had stolen from Myrtle's trailer after all. What a shame, her and Amy had went through their Children of the Corn terror again for nothing. She decided that she would take them just in case. They drove back to their hotel and got dressed. It was about an hour until showtime.
