The next day was very long. Leslie had stayed at Nick’s for the night, but Mandy had stayed also. It was a night long of watching those two cuddle and her annoying giggle. “How could Nick fall for her?” Leslie thought to herself, “She’s such an airhead…” Leslie found herself playing games w/ Angel and Aaron or just hangin’ around watching tv w/ Leslie and BJ most of the time. She couldn’t stand to watch Nick. It made her sick to her stomach. So, after a while, she excused herself as Nick and Mandy stayed in the living room watching a movie. Leslie went up to her room and changed into her pajamas. She sat down at the mirror and started to brush her hair when she heard a knock on the door. , “Come in..” Nick pushed the door open and walked inside. “Oh hi, “ was all Leslie could get out.
“Hey….you okay babe?” Nick asked her.
“Yeah Nick, I’m just tired that’s all.” Leslie lied. She caught a glimpse of his chest…in his unbuttoned shirt. His blonde hair was falling perfectly into those crystal blue eyes. It was making this whole deal even more difficult for her. Nick walked over however, and sat down on Leslie’s bed. He patted it and motioned for her to sit down beside him.
“I need some advice, best friend to best friend.” Leslie nodded. “Well…about this marriage thing…I’m sorta nervous. I’m so scared. Do you think I should be going through with this?” Leslie of course wanted to scream no..and tell him everything she felt….but she tried her best to help.
“Do you love her?” Leslie choked out the words.
Nick stood up and faced her, “She’s my world. Everytime I think about her my stomach starts to get butterflies and I get this dumb grin on my face. I mean, never have I met someone who I felt so right with. She makes me so happy and I couldn’t imagine spending my life with anyone else. So…yes, I love her with all my heart.” Leslie knew that this was the real thing. Just talking about it was bringing tears to Nick’s eyes….and hers.
“Well , there you go.” Leslie turned away again and layed down on her bed. Nick came over, kissed her on the cheek.
“Thank you. Love ya babe, night.” He turned off the light as he walked out the door. Leslie let it all go then, the tears gushed from her eyes. Things were getting worse. Nick was really in love with this girl. Leslie cried herself to sleep…she worry in the morning.
The Next Day..
It was early in the morning when Leslie felt someone jumping on her bed. She was about to yell at Aaron when she looked up. “Nick?? What the hell are you doing??” she looked at her clock., “it’s 8 in the morning!”
“Yeah I know…but everyone’s asleep…so I thought maybe we could spend a little time together on my boat? Ya know..like we used to?” He grinned that irristible grin and pulled Leslie up. She got ready and they loaded some things into Nick’s boat and set out for the open sea. Ever since they were kids, Nick had loved the water. That’s where he and Leslie had spent most of their time. She stood back as she watched him steer the boat. The wind was blowing, but the day was perfect. When they got out away from everything, Nick turned off the motor, and went down to the kitchen where Leslie was fixing some drinks. They sat at the table and talked froever, laughing at some of the silly stories they told.
After dark they both went back on deck and Nick turned the boat around and started back towards home. He set the wheel and went to find Leslie leaning against the rail. He walked up behind her and wrapped his strong arms around her neck. He didn’t have to say anything. Neither did she. They both just stood there for the longest time. Leslie turned around and rested her head on his shoulder and they started to dance. There was no music...but they danced away. Nick started to laugh a little as he swung Leslie around all of a sudden. He dipped her then brought her back up and spun her out once again. Leslie dies laughing. Nick went back to the wheel as he saw the shore getting closer. Leslie watched him. It was odd. She didn’t want to just break Nick and Mandy up. She cared about him and knew it would make him sad. She was just going to have to make Nick not like her anymore. It was as simple as that.
When they got back to shore Mandy greeted Nick w/ a long kiss. Leslie turned her head until they were done. Then she had to get to work, “Hey Mandy…what are you doing tomorrow?”
“Nothing, why?”
“Well, Nick will be gone all day tomorrow at that photo shoot and I just thought that you and I could go shopping….ya know, have a little bonding time.” Needless to say, Mandy was thrilled. Leslie smiled….she had some things to talk to Ms. Mandy about…
