Dare County is a unique area along North Carolina's beautiful coast. Situated next to the Atlantic Ocean, Dare County stretches along almost 110 miles of shoreline known the world over as the Outer Banks. Fifteen fire departments and several other agencies provide quality life safety and fire protection to the county's year-round population and a tourist population that swells during the summer months. Our departments protect a diverse area, from heavily populated resort areas to quiet residential neighborhoods to miles of undisturbed wetlands to beautiful historic locations.

IDAmerica Makes Donation Towards Fire and Life Safety Materials.
In December 2010, IDAmerica presented a check representing donations made to the Association that are used to purchase materials given by firefighters during fire and life safety presentations. IDAmerica began a very popular series of stickers with North and South NC 12 on them. That grew into an array of items such as cups, shirts, hats and many more items that all feature the well known highway number. Since the partnership's inception, $7,452.11 has been given to the Association for the county-wide fire prevention program. Pictured above are: Mark Harvey of IDAmerica, Nags Head Fire Chief Kevin Zorc, Duck Fire Chief Donna Black, Colington Deputy Chief Glenn Rainey, Buxton Assistant Chief Jeffery Del Monte, Kill Devil Hills Fire Chief Doug Penland and Keith Carlson of IDAmerica.
